Jolly Time Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Well, I haven't posted in a while. Sorry everyone. Fun night out of Holland. Woof...a little sporty out there tonight. Definitely not 1 footers. More like 2-3's with an occasional rogue 4'. All I could really handle was a sort of south troll. My angles were terrible and I did not pull a good line all evening. We did manage to catch some fish though. We went 9 for 12. 3 nice 4 year olds and the rest were 3's and one steelhead. We caught the steelhead early on a 225 copper pulling a ace high green ladderback plug. With the exception of a high diver with Happe Meal spoon, I ran all meatrigs and plugs. We started in 130-140fow and just angled in through the evening. 8:30-9:30pm we were in 100-105fow and we were having fun. 225 early green ladderback ( Steelhead) 325 10"SD meatrig (white/white) 15lb King 300 copper (mother of pearl/blue ladderback) 15lb King Inside Dipsey 140 back meatrig black slick 11"paddle with custom rig. Went twice lost both at back of boat Other inside dipsey 125back 10" white SD with with pickle rig and uv head 12lb King Starboard high dipsey 210back with white/black ladderback plug went twice landed 1 8lb king High dipsey port side (Happe Meal mag Spoon) 180back 8lb King 325 went a 2nd time 10lb King 300 went a 2nd time 11lb King Starboard high dipsey went again 160 back 18lb King Fun night. Hard fish. Great laughs and my first triple of the season. Good times. 6
BLP Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Awesome Job and thank you so much for the report. I am headed out of Holland in about an hour and was desperatly hoping for a report to know maybe where to start and what the program was. I hope I can pick up where you left off and will report later this morning.
zgrinder on Fin Warrior Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Hearty work managing fish on in sporty seas. Looks like the bite was on near sunset. Nice cooler full of fish. I was wavering on going out but didn't trust the buoy readings with a steady NW wind for most the day so I stayed tied up.
Lef T Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Nice job in rough seas. I'm getting a little bit queasy just thinking about 2-3's with an occasional 4!

Good luck!

Oh we had one person over the side the last hour. I felt so bad but they didn't want to quit. It's fun when the rods are going off. 1 1
