Daybreak Posted May 1, 2014 Share Posted May 1, 2014 "Relentless" normally hits the water mid-April. Last year was the latest date ever when we launched on May 1. This year... 12" thick ice sheets still floating in the marina, and 55% of Lake Superior is still covered in ice. We're a long way from doing any fishing this year... I'm just waiting for the marinas to thaw out now and temperatures to rise enough that it's not like a "polar bear" campout at the marina. The weather is out of our control and we plan around it on a daily basis. Superior demands and gets more respect than the rest of the GLs.
