  1. Enjoy.... http://vimeo.com/57553655
  2. Agreed... These videos sure get ya all gassed up to get back on the lake!
  3. If you fix the slop in your steering the Simrad autopilot along with the octopus drive is fairly affordable. I know Advantage Marine in Zeeland has been putting them the last 2 years for people. I know someone who had them put it on a cable drive system and he is really happy with it. Think it was $1800 or something like that.
  4. Salmon Showdown Episode 2: St. Joseph https://vimeo.com/56975435
  5. 50lb triple fish fluorobarbon... Store using swim noodle method, hooks are #2 owner trebles
  6. First episode of 333 TV posted today.... http://vimeo.com/56740572 4 more months....
  7. Get a Lund Baron... Try to find one with an 4 stroke outboard though. It might be the last boat you ever buy.
  8. Thank the Lord they didn't put Valverde in as the closer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Bourbon or Scotch??? I used to be a die hard scotch fan... lately prefer a nice bourbon, its definately sweeter. Don't get me wrong... no way I would pass up a nice pour of a single malt. There are some really nice single batch bourbons out there too. Prefer on the rocks or possibly dash of H20... only way to go!
  10. Used to have 4 riggers on our 18ft lund and downsized to 2 riggers like 5 yrs ago. If there is any current below you can get tangled quick. Like Ken I run two dipsys per side, and try to keep the back clear to bring fish in.
  11. I believe Jimbobber fixed his this past spring... may want to ask him the process.
  12. The Holland fish cleaning station was spearheaded by a local group, the DNR agreed to maintain the operations. The money to get it up and runing was from grants and donations. I'm suprised the state doesn't realize the economic impact and just do it on their own. I'm a Holland native and love our port even more now because of the fish cleaning station, it is top notch.
  13. Another battery should close to double your time. Get a good two bank onboard charger, makes things a lot easier and keeps the batteries topped off.
  14. Always humbles me hearing these stories, and reminds me how dangerous the lake can be. We take risks from time to time and it sure is not worth it in the long run. So important to make safe decisions and always be prepared for the worst. I feel terrible for all the families this may touch and pray for peace for them.
  15. The next few years are going to be interesting... I have a feeling we may be catching less fish, but possibly larger fish. I agree with the cuts, would rather see a sustainable fishery than a collapse like Huron.
  16. I would go with 124, you can get deeper
  17. Nope, we will be across the street at the marina. Feel free to stop by and check it out!
  18. Ok last plug for the tournament... hope this answers any last minute questions and includes everything for 2012! Big Red Classic 2012 The Big Red Classic 2012 will be held this weekend—Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 3-5. The rules will stay the same as last year: Catch 10, Weigh 5 for both Pro, Am and Women's. The Women's tournament on Friday is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. We ask that you go on our website and print out pledge sheets to raise money for the Cancer Society, and the team who turns in the most money will win a prize. We were able to secure great sponsors for the Women's tournament this year which allows us to payout a generous $1,000 first prize (for only a $50 entry fee!) The top 5 payouts amounts are guaranteed and are currently posted on the website. Also, the ladies will be holding a Raffle on Friday afternoon after the weigh in and everyone is invited--the top item this year is an Ipad! The Pro/Am tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, with entry fees being $450/$250(Pro/Am) + $20 for Big Fish. Top payouts are $6,000 for pro and $3,000 for Am. We will be adding an additional $1,000 bonus to any Am boat who upgrades to Pro and wins that division! We will pay down the top one third of the participants for each division. We are excited to once again support the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Holland, MI. Ten percent of all the entry fees are donated to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Since 2007 we have been able to donate over $20,000 to support them. With great sponsors we are still able to payout over 100% of the entry fee’s! Thank you for all your support for this great organization. Also, this year the late fee's have been waived! Sign up at the captain's meeting on Friday with no penalty (cash or check only)! Now Open communication for both divisions! Come to the captains meeting for a great chicken dinner by Beechwood Inn. We also have some large raffle prizes we will be raffling off this year which include: Remington 770 .270cal Rifle, 2 - Shimano Copper setups, Fishawk x4 Downrigger Depth Probe System, Igloo cooler full of goodies, Crossbow, 43" Plasma TV + Stand, and a Remington 700 .338cal Rifle. Then general raffle will be held on Saturday afternoon after the weigh in. Everyone is invited to the raffle, even if you are not a participant. Saturday we will have a Pig Roast for all participations, and on Sunday, Quincy Street Meats has donated Brats for all the participants. So come out this weekend and enjoy a great fishing tournament, win some awesome prizes and catch some really big fish! We hope to see you this weekend, Big Red Foundation Committee
  19. I do it this way too... Seems to work better for me than strips for me.
  20. We fished last night too... Didn't see lightning so we stuck it out and got a little wet. Ended up 16 for 21.
  21. Nope, if you fished on his boat your crew would be considered Pro because you are a licensed charter captain.
  22. That is correct! Cash or check only at the captains meeting though.
