  1. Gee, why did I turn the radio off last night.......Oh yeah Now I remember
  2. Go get 'em Mike. When you get a chance, give me a call on my cell, I lost you number when I dropped my phone in 135 FOW last week
  3. Got out just me and a buddy last night for some fun fishing. I can say, it is the most fun I've had on my boat in a few years. Got set up at around 5:30, pulled lines at 9:30. We landed 9. 3 Lakers (threw 1 small one back), 2 Coho's, 4 Kings. Biggest king was 20 lbs 2 oz. Had another that was 17lbs. Biggest laker was just under 10lbs. We took over 20 hits, we honestly lost track cause it got crazy with 2 of us on the boat and the lake driving the boat. The rule of the night was a Big Green Splatterback E-chip paddle with a SeaWeed Horsefly on the wire dipsy back 250. That went at least 8 times and accounted for the 20lber. 11 inch green fishcatcher with SeaWeed Horsefly also went 4 times 90 down on Rigger until we broke that off on a hog. 11 inch white paddle with Mirage Horsefly went 2 or 3 times 90 down on the rigger after we lost the green setup and 11 inch Glow Frog Racer paddle but with a SnowGhost horsefly went 3 or 4 times down 134 on the rigger. 300 copper went 2 times with 8 inch blue spindoctor and SeaMist HorseFly. Best fishing was between 135 and 175.
  4. Nicely Done Gun, GPS coordinates would be helpful like Brian gave us
  5. Great Job Mike, we were out too, left dock at 6:00, was back at 11:00. We ended up 7-9. 10 color was best for us, went 5 times with Blue Flounder Pounder. Took 1 hit on a Green Scaley J-plug, 2 hits on Purple Thunder Glow (24) Nailer and 1 on a Lime Ice Glow (42). Best depth was from 50-55.
  6. That's exactly how rumors get started Mike I can see the headlines now..... KINGS AROUND CHARTERS boats state record Atlantic Salmon (on 4lb test)
  7. I haven't actually been north, but I was told there is one around the 15's, then another one up by Duck Lake. Sorry I don't have more info on them. We've spent more time on the south nets, so based on what we've done, go north.
  8. Didn't have my camera, wish I would have though. In fact, since I didn't have my camera....Lets say it was a 39lb Atlantic
  9. I'll be there Mike, Got a Double on Saturday. Hopefully the fishing improves. We struggled today only going 2 for 4. There were a couple other chaters out today too that also struggled. Fish are stacked up like cord wood in 70-80 FOW, but they won't go:( We took a couple hits right off the bat (by 6:30) in 70, one on a white spinnie/fly, the other on Mashed Bananna Glow, then not a bump until about 10:00 and that was out in 150, those hits were on Mixed Veggie and Pink Ice.
  10. Yeah, that is only the 2nd one I've seen in the last 9 years.
  11. Set up right out front on Wednesday morning to find nothing but warm water and very little bait. Trolled west and took our first hit in 55 FOW on a rigger with 59 feet of cable out. That came on a big white paddle and Mirage Horsefly. Worked from there out to 165 and back into 100. Took another hit on the white paddle/Mirage horsefly down 110 in 120 FOW. Took a couple hits 110 down on a rigger with Mashed Bananna Glow (12). Took 2 rips on 175 copper with Mixed Veggie (47) and a huge rip on 300 copper with a Belding Bait Glow (92). Spoons were all standard (300) series nailers. Best depth was 110-130. Ended up 4-7. 2 kings (12 & 14lbs), 1 steelie (10 lbs), 1 Atlantic (9 lbs).
  12. Great job on 6 fish on Sunday. It was tough out there! It's gotta get better soon, doesn't it
  13. I'm going on Vacation, I hate June! I'll see you in a couple of weeks and start getting ready for the Muskegon Tourney. You are right, you are not missing much.
  14. Fishing has certainly slowed for us. Monday we were pretty slow going 6 for 7 working water from 120-240. Tuesday, we had a morning trip that headed even further to the south and we ended up 4 for 6 working water from 150-340. Tuesday night, the free fall continued and we ended up 3 for 4 working water from 120-200, then back to 40. We did pick up a nice 15lber on a Plug in 60 foot of water tuesday night. Thursday, we were back at it again, thinking maybe the water that was siting up in that 40-60 foot range tuesday night would produce fish. It really didn't, we ended up 3 for 5 this morning. 4 hits came in the first hour of our trip and I really thought we were going to be on to something, but then it died. Our best bait (if you can call it best) has been a Blue Ice (k44) northport nailer spoon, that has at least taken 1-2 hits each time out. We've also had a prototype Nailer that is pinkish/purple and black that has produced a couple hits each time out. Over the last 3 days I've put down almost every spoon on my boat (some where around 100 different color patterns with not a lot of luck:confused: I'm now rooting for July to come, I've officially had enough of June.
  15. Good job Mike, it is definately getting June. Guess it is time to go searching for the Steelies off shore.
  16. Fishing is getting tougher out of Muskegon, but there are still fish to be caught. We ended up the day with 13 bites and boated 11 fish. The only bad thing about the 11 fish we boated, is they were pretty small. In fact, we had to turn 4 kings loose that were not even big enough to be legal (yes, they really were under 10 inches….yikes!). Of the 7 we kept, we had 2 lakers, one 10lbs and one 8lbs and 5 kings which ranged from 3-6 lbs. Our best depth was 150-160 feet of water, and all of our fish came in the top 55 or 60 FOW. All hits came on Nailer Spoons. We took 2 bites on Tangerine Gold (46G), 2 bites on Blue Ice Glow (44), 2 on Mixed Veggie gold(47G), 2 on Black and Blue Glow (93), and one hit on Pink Ice Glow (40), Lemon Ice Glow(43), Orange Ice Glow (41). We also took a bite on a Purple/Black prototype and a Yellow/Black prototype. Rigger down 55 was our best taking 4 bites, but the 7 color and 10 color were worthy of an honorable mention with 2 hits each. We’ll be on the water on Monday and Tuesday, so check back to see if we can find some bigger fish early next week.
  17. Standard size (300) Northport Nailer spoons were the key again on Saturday. Finished up the day with a mixed box of 6 Kings, 2 Coho’s, 2 Steelhead and a Laker on 16 hits. We set up in 110 or so and headed west. Didn’t take our first hit until we hit 165, then the rods started going. Our best was from 160-180 slightly north of the Muskegon Pier. Seemed like we could only get our fish to go when we were on a North West troll. We took Spoon hits on Mashed Banana (K11), Orange Ice Glow on Gold (K41G), Lemon Ice Glow (K43), Mixed Veggie (K47), Mixed Veggie on Gold (K47G), Grassfire Glow (K77) and a Protype purplish/pink and Black spoon in a “tiger†pattern. Took a couple of Fly bites, one on a big white paddle and Mirage Horsefly, the other with a green/silver spin doctor with a Seaweed Horsefly. 3, 5, 7, 10 color all took hits, along with 125 copper, High dipsy’s back 110. The lone “deep†fish was a laker that came on a rigger down 120 with the Mirage Horsefly.
  18. Finished up the morning 11 for 19. We fished North of Muskegon 5-6 miles and covered from 175 to 225 feet. Purple or Orange was the ticket for this morning with most of the fish coming in the top 45 feet of water. Best Bates were Purple Passion (k91) took 4 hits, Pumpkinseed Glow (K16) went 2 times, Purple Thunder Glow (24) took 2 hits. For the baits with orange, Orange Ice (k41) and Orange ice on Gold (k41G) accounted for 2 hits each, Mixed Veggies (k47) and Mixed Veggies on Gold (k47g) also accounted for a couple of hits each. The Fly bite was non-existent. Finished with 6 kings, 4 Steelhead and a 11lb pig of a lake trout. 7 color, rigger down 45 and magnum dipsy back 115 took most hits.
  19. Let me know if this works, I'll give it a try if it does

  21. No, but Paul mentioned something about a bananna peel on one of the Cylinder walls of the old boat.........Maybe that is what made it go Boom!
