  3. Is it in Canada? Looks Canadian to me for some reason.
  4. Always worth it to put on a slider- be it free or fixed. It seemed to pull a few bonus fish for us last year.
  5. After 100 hours of running time on the engine. Sometimes I draw it out a little longer Lots of constant trolling is harder on the oil/engine than wide open running.
  6. Spawnwalker, Yes the cross tape. Glow scalloped over yellow prizm. 2 yds should be plenty.
  7. GLF, Take a look at Boaters World or West Marine. They should have them in stock or at least be able to order it.
  8. Thanks Jim. I''ll give them a shout. I have seen a lot of WTP tape and it is never available. Must be a different maker.
  9. I would like to fish the the Thumb Area Offshore Challenge if I can find a crew.
  10. Thanks Hitman. If I get down that way I'll have to check it out.
  11. If only going for those big mud chickens I would use wire line(solid) on a 309 Penn and roller rod. 1# tunking weights with cowbells and a big sewn gray minnow following. My grandfather and great grand father would fish this way for lakers back in the late 70's and early 80's. Were the salmon in a downswing then? They would bounce bottom with the weight and get into the "holes" as they would say. They caught many a laker this way. Just a young pup but was right there watching them.
  12. Goldie Locks spoon Orange Faygo spoon Orange and gold Rapala Red/black squiggles Thin Fish Blue and gold 2.5" fly Oh did I mention... anything orange.
  13. I'm trying to find some tape for tolling spoons. Does anyone know where i could find the colors: Yellow prizm/ glow (used on lemon ice spoons) green prizm/ glow reversed ( like used on Hey Baby spoons) Thanks in advance! Scott
  14. I would be interested if you can send some pics. PM sent. thanks!
  15. You can run by the pack until you get pinched and a boat decides to do a 90 degree whip and the rigger balls come across the full. Have fought back a few rigs that were caught. Always better to stay outside of the pack!
  16. Welcome to the site Skeiner. Your pictures and advise will be much appreciated!
  17. 1. Blue Jackyl Moonshine spoon 2. Lemon Ice D.W. mag 3. Blue Dolphin S.S. regular 4. Blue bubble/glow bead fly white glow crush Spin Dr. 5. Everglo Firetiger J plug sz. 5 with rattles
  18. If the port has structure near it I go to the structure. (Bank, drop, hole.) Look for temp/thermo in that area. If that don't work we get as many lures out as we can and start runnin'. Need to figure that current thing out better this year.
  19. That is one long beard for a hen. Always interesting to see.
  20. Stayed there last July for the Dreamweaver Challenge. They had just put in new bathroom/shower building. Little crowded but nice place overall.
  21. 20.5" Thompson/ 170 hp mercruiser/ 60 gal tank. Seemed to go through right around a quarter tank per trip depending on the runs and trolling time.
  22. I have been once and would go again if there was a certain captain or specific technique I wanted to learn.
  23. Tiara, I can feel what your going through. It takes a good amount of money to get on the water fishing. I ran the first season with 2 half cores and 2 dipseys. We put some good fish on the boat too. Just went out and started to fish the best we knew how. If you are willing to do some of the work yourself things like rigger boards and tackle can be made for a good price. I made my own rigger board for the back of the boat and a lot of spoons I have are blanks that I rigged. I make all of my own flys also. Look for equipment on the swap areas also. If you know what you want you can find some good deals. Try to get what you need to get out on the water fishing! That is the important part. It is easy to get caught up in all the rigging and equipment taht one could use. After you get going you will figure out what you want and need to consistantly put fish in the boat. Try to get out on the water with some experienced guys and see what you need to run a good program. One day of good knowledge is worth a lot IMO! Good fishing!
  24. I will finaly be putting the name on this spring. REEL FUN Because it is for "reeling" and for having "fun", and of course having fun while reeling in fish.
  25. Welcome. I'm sure you'll find some good stuff here!
