  1. Thanks for the report. I find that I am frequently suckered into setting up in close. One big rip and I keep thinking another will come. Next time I will go west young man, go west!
  2. Thanks. After your fine report, I dragged meat on a low wire diver back 100-160 all over South Haven. Kevin’s girlfriend/pickled sunshine, black mamba, and white Pearl never took a hit. I’m home in Indy this weekend, but eager for another crack the following Saturday.
  3. Fished 0630-1230. Calm seas, plenty of boats, Lonely box. Managed just one coho on an orange standard spoon slider with main line down 45. 2 hits on Carmel dolphin 200 copper, 2 hits on magnum frog 150 copper, 1 hit green tuxedo 5 colors, 1 more on slider and 1 on 300 copper, moonshine flounder pounder. Fished 85-160. that’s right folks 1 for 7. Hooks are sharp. Drags set right. Never had a day quite like it. till we meet again, BigBones out and clear.
  4. Pointed into the waves south west this am to 130 fow. Rode the back N NE. One king on 200 cu, Carmel dolphin in 125. Dancing steelie in 120, 100 Cu, mixed Frog magnum. No other hits.
  5. Well on my way this evening to a good old fashioned skunk. Then suddenly as the sun hit the water, while we were in 150 fow, fire drill. 2 coho rigger , orange spoon slider, rigger down 50. Small king, same orange spoon, and then a crazy jumping 8#steelie on a blue dolphin rigger, down 45.
  6. I’m in 116 fow right now without a hit. Probably shoulda started where the reel woman had success. No fish yet but an unbelievably gorgeous evening in SOHO. Definitely the luckiest guy in the world.

  9. Good thinking taking it easy on your wife. Good things are bound to come.
  10. Late start. Had my infrequent fishing wife on board, so I elected to wait for flat seas. Fished 0900-1215 hour. Trolled from 60 to130 before a hit. Cold water all the way. 2 coho from 130-133. All we needed for dinner, so we went in and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon, and a terrific dinner. Hopefully, another try this weekend.
  11. Back to back long weekends! Very fortunate to get the opportunity. Praying for more!
  12. Thought the thunderstorms would scare fish away as they darn near worked on me. Lucky to get out at 10 am. 2 kings and a coho in 65-70 fow. 15# king on rigger free slider standard orange spoon. Main line down 55 ft. 7 pound king .300 copper black spoon with ping dots. Coho on 100 copper frog magnum spoon. Calm seas became rough after an hour. Quit by 2 pm.
  13. Better waves than predicted … so far. Went South of pier to 120 so I could ride the waves back in. nice Steelhead on 100 copper mixed veggie magnum. no other hits … yet. Hope springs eternal.
  14. Skirted off the north edge of a pop up thunderstorm this am. Was glad to fish in dry clothes. 2 coho on standard orange spoon slider main line down 50 in 92 fow. Coho 150 copper magnum frog spoon 120 fow king 7#, 200 copper Carmel dolphin 150 fow. scattered and slow

  17. Sorry I’ll miss you. Have a great day on the lake! I’ll be back Thursday. As a creature of habit, I tend to set up in 50 fow about 5 miles north, aim west, hope for a fish, and stay till they quit. 90 fow was good for me this week. Someday I’ll apply more science, but for now, this keeps me from getting lost lol.

  19. Short trip today, fishing from 0630-1000hrs. King 2 Carmel dolphin 200 copper. King 1 Frog on 150 copper. Both in 90 fow. Thankful for another gorgeous morning.
  20. Blessed with the best weather I can recall (aging memory). Different day out of Soho today. No flies, yesterday lots. 3 kings in 90 fow. All 3 on blue dolphin back 70 and down 40. So nice to feel the pull of a chinook once more. Luckiest guy in the world!

  24. Fished from sun up at South Haven. Trolled from 30 out to 100. Lots of boats in 100, nobody talking. Skunked. Could use some intel. thought the buoy north of SH was weather buoy. Didn’t give it a thought till I lost a spoon and copper in what was likely a net. Dunce.
