  1. went fihing last night out of holland, found steelhead in 150 fow on the mud line ( lost all three we had on!:angry2:) they came on michigan sunset and nbk jp slammers then we came into 90 fow and fished a pocket of clear water and got two kings:grin: and lost one :angry2: 35 and 70 down on riggers killer green glow and beef eater jp slammers took these hits.We marked a lot of bait out in 150 to 170 fow top temp 66 deg. and 43 down60 foot and on the inside the temp was 66 on top and 43 down 60 foot so its about the same, inside the mud there is a lot of storm debris so be careful. jimbobber

  6. I always fish into the current or quarter it ,this has proven over and over to be the best trolling direction. The best way to figure out current is to have a down speed such as fish hawk or some other unit. Other wise you can watch your dipsie rods when you go into the current they will pull harder and bend more.My opinon is that Down speed is the most importent variable for catching fish. hope this helps just my 2 cents. Jimmy

  7. Well took our shakedown cruise tonight fished from 6:00pm til dark and went 4for 9 all lake trout ,all were released unharmed.Held a couple long enough for a photo and then released them.we fished 20 fow riggers down15 and 5 colors lead,3 colors of lead. All came on JP Slammer spoons. Root beer float, fire tiger ,mixed veggies, blue bubble, and green dolphin.all but the rootbeer float are new colors so it was great to get out and catch fish on them the first trip out.:D

  8. we found that copper with red, orange or glow on them do very well for lake trout in the spring. We have a few proto type jp slammers that we did very well on we even got a few kings on those spoons.they are ment to mimic gobiies and i think in the sring time the fish are on the gobies cus there isnt that many alewives around yet. Just my 2 cents worth. jimmy

  9. sorry for the late report but here it is . cleared the peir heads at daybreak and decided to not combat fish so we went south ,started by the sliders in 40fow set lines and immedietly took a double, one on 3 color with double orange crush jp slammer, and one on rigger 25 down with a killer green glow jp slammer, the next hit came as we were landing the second of the double on a beef eater jp slammer but it came unbuttoned.the next fish took a j plug on 5 color green with black ladder back.the next came on the other 5 color with a blue glow j plug this fish took 20 minutes to get in ,it was long but very slim and didnt way much. This all happened in the first hour in 45 fow and then it shut off so we ventured out to 70 fow with no results so we went back in to 45 fow and picked up another fish on 3 color and double orange crush jp slammer.ended up 5 for 6 on the morning. We had a rookie with us and he caufght all 5 fish. The water spouts where awsome to watch, from a distance.

  10. I RUN 2 QUITE A BIT i PUT THEM ON MY OUTSIDE RIGGERS AND RUN THEM DEEP I ALSO KEEP THEM AT LEAST 20FT APART DEPTH WISE. JIMBOBBER A SWR IS 2 0R 3 COLORS OF LEADCORE BEHIND THE DOWNRIGGER BALLS. GETS YOU DEEP AND ADDS STEALTH TO YOUR SETUP LETS YOU FISH THE BOTTOM WITHOUT YOUR BALLS DRAGGING.

    TIGHT LINES

Thanks ,I have not tried that yet but have heard of guys doing it. jimmy

  11. went out last night for a couple of hours by my self, fished 90to120 fow 65 to 90 down went 1 for 5 all on spoons on riggers glow fire dog, beef eater, and pearl wonder bread JP Slammers. The temps where 44 deg 80 down out there with a south to north current I think I should have went out deeper to 130 fow sounds like they got em good out there.

  12. went out of holland last night and went 7for12 in 112 to160 fow, with 112 being the best with lots of bait.we got everything from 59down to the bottom ,white dodgers and green flies worked early then glow spoons for the last hour and a half.

glow fire dog, beef eater, glow frog, killer green glow, and glow lemon lime ice jp slammers.300 of copper,250 of copper, and riggers on bottom worked the best.the water temps were 55 deg all the way down to the bottom from45 fow to 170 fow so as of last night the lake has not turned over yet.
