    Fished 5-9:30pm, went south this evening. 80-105 fow 1 for 1, 9.6# king salmon Fish hit at 7:41pm, 101fow, on green uv meat rig, net minder sd, braided dipsy, set on 1, 130bk, north troll, sog 2.5. I marked bait everywhere. I'm surprised anyone caught anything.

    What's are you using on the end of the spindoctor for a lure/bait? Nice size chinook!

    Sounds like a well coordinated setup. How waving does it have to get before you worry about lines tangling , especially in strong currents and turning?

    Fished from 6-9pm Lake was flat, 1 for 2, 1st hit a steel head 6:30 pm, jumped 6-8 feet out of the water. Lost him as he tangled my board into my dipsy and slipped the hook. He hit my 200 copper 32#.with a green NBK spoon, sog 2.5, sw troll in 94fow. 2nd was a 6.3# king, on a dipsy with a green/pearl 8" flasher and green uv meat rig, se troll, 2.6 sog. 1st time I was able to put 6 rods in the water, when the wife came on the littleboat. Beautiful night.

    Were you seeing alot of bait marks? As many as the other 2 nights?

    Fished 6:00-9pm 1/1 lake trout on dr with blue ice meat rig and green pearl sd, down 79, back 50 in 91fow on sw troll. 2.5sog. Hit came at 6:30 as soon I put it in the water. Lots of bait in area. Nothing after that, not even a bump. Lake was flat. Beautiful evening. Fish was 7.09# covered 80-128 fow

    0/2 , went south this evening. Waves were 3ft, never laid down. Fished 50-89fow. 1 release on a rigger with green ice meat rig on north troll 2.6sog, back 50ft, down 50ft, in 88 fow . Spit the hook out as I tried to reel him in. 2nd one bit on my wire dipsy with a blue/pearl sd and blue ice meat rig. He torn off the meat rig part leaving the sd and 3 tinsel skirts in 60fow, diver was back 80,set 3. North troll same speed. Only put 3 rods in the water, we were bouncing so much. 3rd line was a chicken wing spoon on a five color. Water was 44 degrees 35 down in 50fow. Didn't want the tangles either. I think it finally laid down as we dock.

    Just reward for rough ride on the lake. Wife and I saw a boat pounding the waves heading out, didn't look like alot of fun. Congrats for hanging on out there.

    0/1 the best I could do was a simple release. Alot of junk floating midwater. Had a tangle when some of it pulled my 5 color into my dipsy. Fished 110-150 fow, just a few marks also. Very disappointing night. I heard a few bites on the radio. Fish finder showed a 50 ft deep thermocline. It seemed to really effect the area fishing.

    Lost 10" flasher and meat rig. ( ouch$$$). Flasher got cranked up into the pole eyelet and wife kept cranking, hence the breakage. Not her fault, I didn't realize how close it was while I was trying to net the fish. I'll be out there tonight, if I get my honey-dos done.

    0 for 1, lost a king at the boat when the line broke. Had him on a green/ pearl 10" flasher and speckled dick meat rig as I pulled him up to the net. 131 fow, nw troll, sog 2.6, dr down 55ft, back 30'. Time to replace some old lines.

    I have the x4d, my error in the previous message. I corrected it. You'll love it. Wish it were cheaper.

    I run it on my bigger boat. I thing it's the best. It is an X4D, reads temp, depth and speed at ball. On the littleboat I use a small hand held fishawk attach it to a line with a 2-4 oz weight, send it to the bottom, let it settle out and then slowly crank it up. It reads temp every 5 feet. Then I decide how to fish.

    I know the feeling. Morning bites were poor, but evening was much better. I did have one tangle last night, but it was when the fish twisted the braid somehow under the inside of the snap swivel on the dipsy. I lost about 15 minutes until I finally had to cut it apart. The 4th fish (king) hit at the same time and stayed hooked until I pulled it to the boat and bungled it. Also the launch ramps were really busy with the holiday boaters. The fog wasn't bad at all. You could see land and other boats easily.

    Fleas were there, but about 75% less on the braid and alot easier to flick off. I wear gloves pulling in the line when I hand over hand net by myself with the braid. If I tangle the braid with a SD or other, I cut it and retie the snap swivel. It's to difficult to try and straighten it out. When I use mono I have a little plastic fork with smooth edges to flick off the feas.
