  1. I hate it when fish won't bite as you described. Things I would try. Move you boat to fish in front of the Holland channel. Fish in the 80-120fow. Make short 'S' trolls at 2.2 to 2.6sog 45° toward the harbor back and forth north and south. Set your downriggers to 48-50 and 55-65ft down with long leads 50-70ft. Set your divers on 3 and out 125-150'. Use 200-300 cu with boards to get everything away from the boat. Replace some of your spoons with a 8-10" flasher glow white/chrome/blue with blue/white or green white/fly. Meat rigs if your got them. Change your speed at ball for a few minutes (3) to 3.4sog and run normal to 2.4-2.6 sog then drop to 1.5-1.8 sog for a minute then back to normal. If all fails go to the store and buy fish to make kept promises! Good luck.

  3. 2/4 kings today, 11#-14oz (6:24am) and 3#-1oz (5:59am), 59-80fow, 2.7-2.8 sog, S trl, ball depth 19-24ft , ball temp 52-8 to 52.4°,both on riggers, lure Mag Flounder pounder got both, lost 1 on 170 cu, other flyby on rigger. No hits on sliders, 150C or divers. Quit at 8:42am after an hour of no bites and other commitments. Thermocline was 23ft. I think 40-50ft would have produced better results. Lake was flat, wind 5.2mph, 1/2' waves, air temp 62.4
  4. No, wife took me shopping for lures I couldn't resist. I'm glad Seafoam could help you. Nice catch on the two kings SeaFoam!
  5. I saw a small window to get out today, before the wind blew the rest of the week away. 3/6 all kings, 10#-15oz, 6#-10oz and 6#-7oz., between 5:44-6:13am, all on south troll, sog at ball 2-7 to 2.9, ball temp 50-55.1°, ball depth 35-45ft dwn, 69-79fow, Moonshine lures flounder pdr mag, jackal mag and burnt toast mag. 170C and DRs took the fish. No bite on diver or sliders. Pulled lines as the waves were building to 3ft and starting to bounce me around.
  6. Nice box of fish Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  7. Fished 5-10:30 am, mostly 83-90fow.1 for 3 on fish and 0 for 1 on seagulls. Smoky fishing, I think it had a negative effect on the fish but positive effect on seagulls. They were dive bombing my lures trying to pick them up and out of the water. When I let out my downrigger lead, they would attack it, pick it up, flap their wings for lift off, but crash back into the water with lure in their mouth. One did it several times before giving up. I think he got hooked and was trying just like a steelie to shake the hook off. Only 1 fish today brought on-board. Lost 2 others when my snap swivels broke on the sliders losing the main lures not the slider. 1 king, 15#-2oz, 6:04am, MS Mag Flounder pdr,, 2.7sog, sw trl, 52.8° at ball, 43ft dwn, in 83.4fow Ran 150C, 250ws, 300ws, hi & low divers and two riggers on N & S trolls, zigzanging. My probe batteries ran out right after I just setup. I was very busy replacing batteries, and lines with broken swivels instead of fishing. Lots of smoke today, wore a mask at times. Peeled a large part of my skin by unprotected edges on my net. Definitely a fix coming for that. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  8. smoke looks like a little haze. Fish biting. 15lb-2oz... breaking my gear. Fish are really biting hard. Smoke has gotten worst definitely can smell and taste it Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  9. Great triple, Great day! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  10. Looked like the shadow crowd was a little fickled last night. I wonder if the reflected light of the RVs ran into a dark density wall in the water column, not letting the fish see them?
  11. Great catch sounded like a good evening. Must have landed on pod in your major hookup.
  12. What a wild ride! Good fishing though. Congrats.! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app

  15. Night bite is the best! What was the weight of the biggest fish you caught? Did the bugs take the night off?
