  1. saw this on the Michigan-sportsmans forum, wanted to share it here in case any of you loss them or know who did. Kearly Shuffle was the op On Sunday night we found a knife set at the Holland fish cleaning station. I think we saw the guys in there that forgot it. We were the guys that had the one salmon. If someone can tell me what kind of set, and describe it, I will get it back to you. If anyone on here that knows who might of lost these, and sees this post, please let them know. Send me a P.M. I want to get these back to the owner.
  2. how fast does it fall back down? on my 194 if it sat more than a week it would gradually settle and that ended up being a very small leak in one of the braided lines. if it's falling you are losing pressure somewhere, is oil leaking up at the pump?
  3. I'm planning on getting it looked at next week, thanks for all of the input.
  4. Fairly sure I have a head gasket issue with my explorer, I'm somewhat thinking about changing them myself, but not sure I want to dive into that right now. Anyone have a local guy they really like? I could go a week or more without it so getting them done super quick isn't important Would get them pressure checked first obviously Thanks ahead of time for any help
  5. Took my uncle, cousin, and his kid out of Port Sheldon from 7-11 this morning. ended up 4 for 6. 3 nice steelhead (7-12 lbs) and a 5lb coho, we stayed in the 70-90 range all morning, our best was 75' south troll at 2-2.2mph gps. Steelhead came on 200 and 300 coppers with flounder pounder and blue flounder spoons. coho hit an rv flounder pounder down 65. good thing all of these steelhead are around, it'd be awful slow if they weren't
  6. Thanks for all of the help guys. yes it was just the timing, although I could not get it set by just manually adjusting on the water (could have just been me) but I timed it with a light and it runs like a champ now. I soldered in the 2 resistors and diodes per the instructions, works fine. Corallee: I did the exact conversion that you are talking about on your 235 in my 194ss (both merc 302's) that is easier than on the OMC as there isn't an electronic shift interrupter. find the model number on your distributor and send it my way, I can find which pertronix model you need. when I did the upgrade on my merc i didn't even have to adjust timing.
  7. Nice work! I must admit you've gotten everyone in multiple tourneys by doing something completely out of the box. I just wish you would have taken the four winns. nice job again, I think you do a great job with keeping those girls interested in fishing and making sure they have a good time...something I hope to copy someday in the future.
  8. Fished Saturday morning, 6-12 along with a bunch of other guys from the forums in the WFML Big lake Lures sponsored the tourney, along with my pocketbook as 4 of our 5 fish came on lures from him. All fish came right around 60' caught the first one on a Frozen toad on a short core and decided we'd put out a couple others...paid off. small king - 3 color - BLL frozen toad Green/Yellow 8.5 lb steelhead - 2 color - BLL frozen toad yellow (lure I grabbed at the doc) medium king - 25' down rigger - Moonshine green jeans 2 medium kings - 4 color - BLL frozen toad Green/Blue I have been running a lot of the BLL on the long lines this year after Scooby Snacks convinced me late last year they were the ticket, they seem to out fish other spoons on lead and copper for me.
  9. i updated the new boat (3.0 OMC) to electronic ignition/new plugs/wires/coil and now am getting a little spark knock over 3000 rpms. thoughts so far run premium instead of midgrade-didn't help re-gap new plugs down to 35 from 40 (stock is 35 but I've had really good results running higher with hotter ignition in the past) Timing could be off do to switch from points any input on things I may be missing or should look at first? thanks
  10. little buck (If he can see over the dash to get the boat out of harbor)
  11. long weekend, didn't get skunked in three days, but only 9 fish for 3 days. you been out lately?

  12. Good work, the fish have been really scattered lately
  13. Count us in, might want to putt this up on the other forums as well to get some others in
  14. Thanks for all of the input guys, with the above info I just call Great Lakes holders and I had it the following day! I think I like the staggered holders but time will tell for certain
  15. Anyone know where to find a michigan stinger bird triple tree? I need a starboard one and prefer to buy local than online, I did find one for 189 online
  16. Native sunglasses are the best "high end" sunglasses I have found, much like Costas except that they have lifetime warranty on everything! i've had 1 pair for 8 years, on my third set of lenses and 2nd frame, all for 10 bucks in shipping. I like the hardtop XP, can be had for around $100, I like them so much I have a second pair, same model but new ones don't have reflex lenses.
  17. I have a blueberry muffin ss that has been beat to h*** and back but continues to slam big fish, a couple years ago won 3 different big fish pots on the same spoon run on 7 color. Also a big fan of bll toad designs, we run them deep and outperform others, if you haven't tried them you should.
  18. Thanks that is exactly what I was looking for!
  19. I have a tough situation on my hands, after looking all winter and selling both my boats I have found 2 all of the sudden that are what I am looking for. Both are 2000 islanders, 1 is 19' the other 22' I am leaning heavily towards the 22, but if the 19 were to fit in my garage that would tip the scales that way. Anyone know if it would fit under a 7' door?
  20. We are in, weather permitting obviously. I would be willing to help out with weigh in and whatnot if others are interested in fishing.
