  1. Does anyone know when the fishing cleaning station in Holland will be open? I hate bringing fish home because I don't have a place to easily dispose of the carcase.
  2. Nice job! We trolled the same waters and were hoping for a few lakers to passage time but couldn't get any to go. I guess jointed plugs were the way to go.
  3. First king of the season. We watched it on the graph shoot up from the bottom in 50 fow to hit an orange spoon 30 down on a rigger.
  4. I've gone out twice and have not done very well this Spring. Last Tuesday the water was anywhere between 44-47 degrees out to 40 fow. No hits, no marks. I didn't try too long because I had some non fisherman friends on board. I'll most likely be out tomorrow as well in my friend's boat, we might try Port Sheldon.
  5. I was so proud of my: 5 color 200 32# 300 32# until reading this post........
  6. Adam, I have heard that Lake Mac and the Black River in Holland gets a decent white bass run however I have never fished for them specifically. A few of my students did really well for them from shore last year.
  7. Thanks Joel, that is the number one factor I consider when wanting to go out deep. My crew and I wouldn't survive long enough for a rescue if we went in the water.
  8. Do you have a guess how many miles from shore 200 fow is from Holland?
  9. Darn! Was this by the DNR boat launch? I've been meaning to check it out but haven't had a chance.
  10. Is anyone planning on heading out to Lake Michigan this weekend? I am thinking about launching out of Holland but am concerned about the ice in Lake Mac. If I do get out, it would be nice to see a few other boats around. I'm always a little timid when I'm out super early or super late in the season since the weather is not as forgiving.
  11. I believe they are identical to Big Jon bases. If you order the triple rod tree you have a choice of the 4 X 4 base or Bert's style base.
  12. I'm glad you like them, I can't wait to use them in the Spring.
  13. Yes, these swivel 180 degrees with just one hand. As I said earlier, I am extremely impressed with the quality of this product at such a great price.
  14. The rod holders came I'm today. I am very impressed with the quality of their product and am contemplating about ordering rod trees from them now. I spent $180 shipped for everything in the photos, you just can't beat the price. I will buy from them again.
  15. I am currently in the process of rigging my boat for salmon fishing next season and ran across these guys on the net. From what I can tell, their products look decent and are at a good price. Does anyone have any experience or information about these guys? I plan to order two single deck mount holders and two double rod holders. Your input is appreciated. http://www.fishonsports.com/
  16. I'm very jealous. One of my goals this year is to catch a salmon jigging and casting on the pier. Nether of which has happened yet. I have to man up and get the boat out.
  17. Great job! I will be going Friday morning, hope the fishing stays hot.
  18. Great job. Guess I should have gone out of Port Sheldon this morning. Went 0 for 2 this morning out of Holland. Got a buddy who is a first timer fighting some fish, unfortunately because it was his first time we didn't land any.
  19. Ok, thanks for the heads up. Did you mark any fish in close?
  20. How were the waves this morning? A buddy and I are thinking about heading out this afternoon, but we are skeptical of the wave reports.
  21. Are those stray skams from elsewhere? Last I heard, they didn't stock skams in the Grand.
