  1. I would be interested to see pictures and to know how many hours on the motors. Is there a trailer available for this boat? Use this forum or call; Three 0 four- 906- nine 3 two nine ask for Adam
  2. Hey Adam, Just realized this was you.

  3. Fished from 7- 10 pm Sunday at GH Pier. Wife and I braved the crowds because it was such a nice day and wet some lines. I dragged 2 gobies and smashed em good! Nothing else on my lines, but some good folks from Flint hooked a few Drum (sheephead) on the River side. That was the only action I saw. As per usual I left when the bite was probably about to pick up. I spied a few good size sauger along the break wall (river side) on my way out and an intriguing silver cruiser about two feet long (lake side). I was throwing Husky Jerk and had one on the bottom with green crawlers (Gobie). Maybe next weekend.
  4. Thats good stuff Ed, many thanks to you. Unfortunately, the wife told me we have to buy the house before we buy the boat so I am still pier trodding and listening to Grand Haven's promising youth recite poetry and play "emo" guitar to the sunset under the lighthouse. It is a wacky kind of fishing compared to the spillways and small streams of Western PA and Ohio but I will figure it out. ..shrimp... second guy to tell me that around here. I would have never thought of that. Thanks again
  5. I am new to the big lakes and was hoping to get a regional primer from folks in the know regarding seasonal runs, conditional triggers and suggested set ups. Perhaps a good oppurtunity for folks to compare notes. Keep in mind I am speaking from Grand Haven and vacinity, bank/ pier fishing only. (need to get my feet wet before I jump into buying a big water boat) Please see questions below; 1. What seasonal runs can be expected and generally what months are prime? 2. When (season/ time of day) is pier fishing for Salmon/ trout most productive? 3. Is Small mouth/ Walleye/ Musky fishing in the Lower Grand generally worthwhile? I think that is a good start. Folks on this Forum have been most friendly and helpful and I am much obliged! Sore Some Jaws!
  6. Well I finally get moved into my appartment here in Spring Lake from straight outta the 'burg (Pittsburgh) and the Rivers wanna flood me out. I don't even have my feet under me well enough to help the folks in G. Rapids sand bag the town. I sure hope folks are doing okay over there and if any of y'all are affected (other than lack of fishing), our thoughts and hearts are with you. Rekon I will be volunteering for some river cleanup days instead. Maybe all this water and mud will get the bite stirred up next week. Best o luck!
  7. Well now that is a welcoming response. I rekon I found the right forum to commune with. Honestly just the thought of seein a laker again...makes get all jelly. My tip of the day is to research the White Bass run in Sandusky river near Freemont Ohio. I never got to fish the north country alot having grown up in Cincinnati, but that is a fond memmory of what the lake runs can do. Walleye and Morone all day long fast as you can cast a twin popeye rig. My cup runeth over yet again. Obliged to you gentlemen all. Looking forward to soring some jaws with you!
  8. Hello fish folks! I am relocating to Grand Haven/ Holland Michigan area from Pittsburgh, PA. Fishing here in Pitt area is fairly weak consisting of Locks and Dams on the three rivers or small state stock lakes. I am absolutely excited to be in Western Michigan on the big lake and with so many rivers, but it will be some time before I get in a boat type situation. Where should I fish from shore this spring? 1. Do the Walleye and White Bass run well into the tribs? 2. Is there spring run Salmon/ Steelhead? 3. How is the Smallmouth fishing (Big Lake and rivers)? I appreciate y'all's input!
