  1. As Steve stated above, we took one brown on a rigger back 30 down 15 in 38 FOW on a raider Green Spook. Marked alot of fish out from the pier heads in the 40-50 FOW range but couldn't buy a bump. Heard tell of a boat taking a couple in 192 FOW, but didn't feel like running out that far with what time we had left.

On the other hand, once the rain stopped and teh clouds cleared up it was a beautiful day on the water.

  2. I put the 337c unit (external Antenna) on my boat last year also with the navionics chip (a must have IMHO) :) It does a great job. :) Get with the FISHDOG guys, I'm pretty sure they can get you best price. :D :D

  3. I just finished reading the book, a very good read. Dan has done a very good job of explaining his "group dynamic" theory of fishing at a laymans level so its easy to understand by all.

He introduced a few new ideas, and reminded me of some tactics that I've used in the past (on the west side of the lake). I'm not saying everything he says is the gospel, but you can't argue with success. I plan to try the majority of his ideas as the season progresses.

:) A good investment for anybody interested in catching more kings.

P.S. RCH, Once Val teaches you to read  , I'll rent you the book :D :D

  4. Thanks for the info Slipknot, I hope their boat requirements aren't to much different from Lake Mi, Hate to buy abunch of stuff for a one time deal.

Darren, I hope I hit it even close to being right, It looks like I'll be there the last 2 weeks of June and "maybe" the first week of July. There is also the possibility of a week in may thrown in.

Have I got a cool Boss  or what?? :D :D :) the taking the boat idea was all his even... Companies picking up the ticket for the whole trip (minus the license fees)

  5. Looks like I may be spending about 3 weeks in the Oswego, NY area for training and the Boss says I can take the boat if I want to (DUH :) )

I've glanced over the NY license info, it appears a non-resident is $40.00 but I didn't happen to see a "Salmon/Trout stamp" requirement. Anybody got any info on license/boat requirements that differ from Lake Mi?? Any help is appreciated.

  6. Rich,

I used Gluv-It to seal all my rivet lines on my Islander. Its a 2 part epoxy that dries hard yet flexible and takes paint very well. you can put it both interior and exterior to seal up a crack. you can pick it up at most marine centers, I bought it at West Marine but have seen it several places.

  7. I have to agree with Mike, The Fishdog Guys put on another great event AGAIN. Mark and Steve, not to mention the wives, did an outstanding job hosting the Brown Blast.

The Fishing could have been better, but seeing old friends and meeting some new ones pretty much overshadowed the slow fishing.

Even though the South lost the Trophy to the West again this spring, We'll see you in the fall :D . I for one, and I think I can speak for my crew, had a wonderful time and look forward to the next event.

Thanks Again, Mark, Steve, Darla, and Connie for making this another memorable event.:) :) :)
