  1. We started out with 2 riggers/sliders, 2 wire dipsies, 1 copper and 1 full core, All the rods took fish but 1 dipsey... All the lures were the dreamweaver spoons/fly that we given to us. The Habenaro took one on the copper, I think the only ones we didn't get a hit on were teh monkey shine, last nights bait, and I can't think of the other name right now, but it was similar to a dolphin... everything else at least took a rip... other guys said they had same luck different lures??? MAybe just a presentation thing at different times of the morning.

  2. We made it out for the "Dreamweaver" Tourney in Muskegon. A beautiful day for it. we didn't do to bad, went 4/5 with a 15# our biggest but all quality fish. I'd like to thank Steve and especially Kerri (she's the one that put us on the fish). everything came in 100-115 fow at varied depths, lots of cold water, 39 degrees @66 fow but the fish just quit hitting around 9am.

  3. Don't worry about it Wayne, I accomplished almost everything I wanted to on saturday. I had never fished St. Joe before but now I know where the launch is and how to get out to the lake. Now I'm confident that when I see reports of fish being hammered in St. Joe I can hop in the truck, head down and not catch fish on my own. I don't need help for that. One thing that I learned is I will keep setting my planer boards to release. Then I'll have to think of new, more creative ways to let fish off. Thanks for letting me tag along. How did you do the rest of the weekend? Thanks for the ride Steve, I'm glad to have made it home awake.

I'd like to add that I was glad for the perch addition, at least we got to catch some fish.

    Nick,

Steve and I tried to get out Sunday am but we turned it around at the pier heads with all of 4 footers coming at us, so we went and had breakfast instead.

Only problem with boards that release, your having to adjust them with different water conditions and speeds, After you have to reel in fullcores repeatedly cause of premature releases, you may rethink the releases. I'm kinda against that reel em in just to put them back out, I learning to keep the rod tip down when bringing in the boards, helps keep them from diving.

  4. Nice Job Tom,

We also made an attempt to fish the 8th. We set down in 70 fow straight out from the piers and trolled south. Had a nice rip on a mono highline with a orange/chartreuse body bait, lost that one when the board dove on us, and had a hammer on the wire dipsey with cut, 125 back on 2 over all we went 0-2 on chrome... thanks god for the perch, at least they saved the skunk.

Thanks to Steve and Nick for sticking it out and not making me walk the plank :( My luck/skills just haven't worked for me this season... hopefully things will turn around soon.

Also wish to thank Connie and She Kris for putting on a great spread and Steve for some great deep fried perch and salmon. HOSPITALITY, AS ALWAYS WAS ABOVE AND BEYOND.

  5. Hay Wayne after your phone conversation with her the other day I thinks she may have a few plans for you and your ideas too. I won't post here what she said, don't want to get myself banned.:D :D :D :D Let's just say she wasn't real impressed with paying for a trip to New York.

WOW, I figured she would be looking for a way to get rid of you for days at a time. As it ended I reserved a 2 bdrm cabin for the 8 days.... to bad your "retired" and can't make the trip :D . Companies paying for all but the 1st night and the last 2 nights.

And knowing Char, She probably said those things to YOU, after all, I'm just trying to help...:D :D

  6. I guess if there are to many problems we can open up the stair way and make it part of the house, give me a place to get away from the wife.:D

Have you told Char about this little plan Steve?? She may have the same idea, while you work on the boat and truck :D :D :D:eek:

  7. Ok folks let's here some home remedies to get rid of the stuff. The last few times I have had to go to the doctor to get rid of it, there must be a way to kill the stuff. I have it on both arms, legs and face, down right miserable. Put bleach on my arms and les, stung like heck and don't look like it's clearing up any.

Told ya to stay out of that stuff... Shoulda listened to me.

I used Ivy-Dry and calamine lotion, but I may not be as sensative to it as you. :cpox:

  8. Well, Since my 3 week fishing trip with some training thrown in got "postponed" for a few months, I've been pondering making a trip to the Oswego, NY area the weekend of 25-28 of august.

Anybody interested in splitting some costs for a chance at some 30# Chinooks?? Hoping to leave Thursday Night, early friday am and returning monday.

Any interested parties, please shoot me a PM.

  9. I am also a big 3 person. However, Toyota produces a ton of cars in the U.S., sure it's a Japanese owned company, but they employ and produce here, so let them join NASCAR. As far as qualifying, I think you'll be surprised, I believe toyota is pouring $$$ into R&D. As for D.J., He's a whiner and a has been, He's bailed out on the Wood Brothers, Joe Gibbs and now Yates. He has no loyalty, and He should join kyle Petty and give up racing and let those that can, do.

    Just my 2 cents.;)

  10. I have several MAGDA and Convector reels, I haven't any problems to date. I agree with Rich, no matter what you buy, you have a chance of getting a bad one. For the price/quality yourgetting a good deal. Also as Rich stated, geting them through the FISHDOG Company, you have an excellant service/return policy.
