  1. As for the fishing it wasn't so swell for myself and BDWaulk...we ended up only having the two of us on the boat (could've used those extra 3 lines) and only boated 2 fish (one coho and one king). Started in 150' quite a ways north and finally found some fish in about 70' but it was too late to capitalize on them. From the sounds of it if we would have went south instead of north it may have been a different story. Had a good time as it was and look forward to many more events. Good luck to everyone going to South Haven...wish I was going.
  2. Thanks Steve...not sure where that was tucked away within the website, but I'm glad you linked it. I'll be adding those to my laker arsenal in Minnesota...beats trying to thread a ciscoe:D
  3. Ok Levi...looked at FisherTackle and I'm not seeing any "Guppy". Are you holding out?
  4. Thanks for the time Jim and Bev...great read.:GreenDolphin:
  5. Hope the storms hold off for you (if we get them). You'll probably slam them tonight while I'm hitting the little white ball. Good luck. I hope we get to fish Fri and Sat!! Feel free to share your coordinates if you find a school of teeners
  6. I don't care who you are that's funny right there! I hope Dave doesn't go through his boat real close Friday AM:D
  7. Great idea Mike, but I don't envy you having to try and put hundreds of spoon colors together as "smiles". I hope everyone that reports takes the time to scroll through the hundreds of choices to pick the spoon color/manufacturer/nickname they caught fish on.
  8. Thanks for the report...I need to get back out there-getting the shakes from withdrawls with all of these good reports floating around!
  9. It was nice fishing w/ you Spawnwalker. What a great AM on the water. Thanks to Mark as well.
  10. All of those stories floating around must finally be taking a toll on the people willing to fish with you Steve:D If I didn't have to pick up the daughter at the sitter I'd be all over the ride w/ you. Maybe give Martin a buzz...not sure if he checks this board or not. Anyone who wants to learn more about fishing the big lake and put some fish in the freezer would be wise to take Steve up on his offer...I've fished with him many times and have never experienced the "black cloud" that follows him around (knock on wood).
  11. The wife has a cat, Ziggy (I can't stand that cat!). We have a Golden Retriever-Tip-Up...she's my fishing partner wherever I end up:)
  12. Skip the wireline and use PowerPro and a long stiff rod w/ a linecounter reel (dipsy set-up), but you've got the laker program in the bag...after that it's all about speed and action.
  13. My avatar should give it away...
  14. Red and Black Thinfin/Thinfish Orange J-11 Rapala Fuzzy Bear Skamania Tamer Pro King Bumble Bee BJ Spoon (swapped out w/ VMC hook)
  15. That's the best report I've heard all year out of St. Joe! Nice job on the smackdown. Let's hope there is a giant heard of kings out there that size this year!
  16. Glad you got into a couple Steve...wish I'd have been by myself Sun PM and I would have hopped aboard-the pier was dead. It'd be real nice if it would stay calm for about a week and let these fish school up and get patternable.
  17. If you hit the right 3 weeks you'll be in heaven Wayne! Good luck.
  18. I love fish mounts and could stare at them for hours remembering the fish and the trip. I have done 1 steelhead (34" colored up buck) and 1 bass (6.5# out of the lake I live on). I also have 3 mounts at various shops right now 1 laker (17# caught on inland lake in MN), 1 skamania (37" 17# from the pier last year), and 1 brown (30" 16# off MC pier this spring).
  19. You forgot "Trash Fish"=Bass, and "log"=walleye Steve.
