  1. There were NO last place finishers, and the only losers, were those who missed out on this great event
  2. Hey Ed, I can relate. Mine are now 15 and 17, so mom is always game for getting away from them. Hope to see ya at the park, wether you get in on it or not. Stop by and say hey! Thanks for the continuing reports. So glad to see the temps are gonna be in the 70's instead of the 80's-90's.
  3. hey Ed, Our tourney director decided to have us on ch. 01, so thats why you couldn't reach me, I don't know what channel we will be on this weekend. You gonna come to the league event on sat. You should get a babysitter, and bring the wife for the fun. As for your question, it didn't seem to matter wether meat or, gulp, or spoons, or cranks. Location, played a bigger part. These fish seem to school according to size, and if you caught 1 -15 incher, you could catch a dozen there. we moved 5 different times on sat to different gps. spots. Got bigger fish on sunday(day after the tourney) but thats how it always goes. 22 inches was our biggest of the weekend, but the average we boxed was 17-18. probably caught 50-60 eyes sat and friday, and just fish a few hrs on sunday, probably caught 30 on sunday to get our 15.
  4. Hey Ed, I wondered if you were out, we stayed a bit north of you, and did pretty well in the BC tourney;) We tried the meat and the hardware, didn't seem to matter. Lots of the charters I seen trolling with the big boards were landing a fish every 3-4 minutes. Most of them done by 11 am. Had the boat in a slip all weekend, so we avoided the mess at the launch for the most part! Thanks again to the Detroit Beach Boat Club for their fine hospitality, and continuing support of the Battle Creek steelheaders.
  5. If its legal acoarding to DNR rules, and it is available to all anglers, no reason it shouild be banned. If a person frowns apon it because he doesn't use it, or doesn't know how, then thats their fault. Kinda like telling someone, what kinda boat they can use, or the direction of troll they hafta use. If you are a good captain, and are confident in your presentation, you don't need others to conform to your ways in order to be on an equal basis. Just do what works for you. To those who say they haven't noticed a difference in cut bait or flies....................... alrighty then!
  6. Thanks Guys, Nope caz, I worked on the jobsite yesterday, and in my own shop doing some spring cleaning today. I always wish I could go every weekend, but right now is the best time for me to get caught up on home and work stuff, before Erie, Lk. Mich, and LSC start kickin in! You know we are just 3-4 weeks away from all of that stuff hittin at the same time.!
  7. Took a while, I had to check it out first. You can never trust these web site folks! Yep, from Kazoo, I actually live between you and the zoo, in richland township. Thanks for the offer, and same to ya. Site looks really nice, Hope it stays that way for a real long time!
  8. a new probe alone is almost 200 bones, I think the 840 goes for $550-599. It transmits the signal thru a transducer not the rigger cable.
  9. I am suprised he didn't drive on the other side of the dead head in the river!
  10. That dude drivin has got some sexy bibs on!
  11. Yep, we pulled out right next to them, just in front of Turner. Bob has 4 boats now, and none of them are too shabby. A pair of 135 offshores on this one. I heard about 78-80 K to have one just like it!
  12. I think you'll see it here in the next two years, along with about 4-5 other states. There is either 9 or 11 states that have already outlawed smoking in public places, buildings, resturaunts and bars across our country.
  13. Hello sports-people. I recieved a business card at a fishing event last sunday, and decided to see if the site was real;) I'm not new to fishing, and see a few names on here that I think I know, many of them actually want to be just like me! Looks like a pretty nice sight, bad news is: I spend way too much time on other sites similar to this one. Thanks Mike ( GLF) for the invite. I promise to behave..honest! If anyone ever needs a crew member, give me a shout. I also have my own boats for the big lakes, or the larger rivers!
