  1. Or do a Braveheart, wouldn't want it to fall in then either:lol:
  2. Ed, I did, and I was just about to give a big shout out to them.
  3. Ok, I'll be at the one by the cemetary Tuesday thru Thursday. I may have a proposal for you, I'll give you a call. PM me your phone number, I lost your number last spring when my cell phone went to davy jones locker in Florida.
  4. I'll be there the 17-20, then back on the 24th thru August 10th. I'll look you up, where are you staying?
  5. I will be in Ludington from July 17th thru August 8th (3 weeks). If you have a slip that you are not using and would like to rent it to me for three weeks, PM me. I have a 24' Trophy Hardtop.
  6. Mike, not sure what type of rod or guides you have, but here are some places to look. What type of tip guide is on these rods. If it is a standard guide ring type, check there first for grooving or ring being gone. If it is a roller tip, check to make sure the roller bearing is not seized up. After that it gets more tricky. Again, if it is a roller rod, check to see that all rollers have bearings that are free and smooth. Also check each roller and frame for evidence of the wire running off the roller and against the guide frame. Twist is caused by friction, basically the same effect as making a ribbon curl using scissors. If your using standard guide rings, look at them closely, even with a magnifying glass, looking for grooving. Once the guide rings groove, they are putting loads of friction and heat on the wire. Any wire rod will develop some curl, but if you have a hundred feet of it, something else is wrong. I would also check your remaining uncurled wire for strength to rule out that heat and friction has caused the line to degrade.
  7. Another thing I'll check on for you is at Birch Run. Every weekend or so, the Coleman outlet has a huge outdoor flea market type of thing and they normally have the "salmon sized" coolers for $50 brand new. Last time I saw them, i picked up 3 of them.
  8. Jeremy, I have a couple of extra large salmon type coolers. One is an igloo, another is a coleman I believe. Both are in fair condition, how about $40 per cooler? I will be coming to Zeeland/Holland in the next couple weeks.
  9. Nice job Grant. You should come over to Saginaw Bay and pad your walleye numbers:lol:. A big fish bowl right now.
  10. The Bay just keeps amazing me with numbers, and now size this week. This week has gifted the Eyeull II and buddys with 95 keeper fish in 5 trips. Most trips have been 4 hours or less. The lower end of the deep water basin on the East side of the channel has been almost 80's like in regards to size. This week has produced 2 fish at 28" and one at 29". Several fish above 6 pounds and the bulk of the keeping at 18-23" size class. Wednesday, we never measured a fish, just threw anything less than 17" back. Silver Streak Minis and jr's behind Walker Mini Discs has been the method. Colors are almost anything with UV pinks, purples, chartruess, or watermelons. 22-25 fow, fishing 85-120 feet back behind big boards at 2.7 - 3.0 gps speed. I started out last weekend fishing my normal spread of 4 board rods each side, plus the two slide divers over the corners. The last two trips, I reduced the spread to 3 board rods per side and no slide divers. Why work harder than you have to when the fish are jumping like they are. I did notice that the school of fish I have been working (along with many others) has moved north and east a little each day, almost a mile this week in total. We need a hard north east blow to move some cold water back in the Bay, or the bite will die and move to deep water. I'll post some photos later tonight when I can get them organized from the past week. I have been either working or fishing, so not much time for posting or photos.
  11. Nice job Frank, the size is back for now on the inner Bay.
  12. Well, get ahold of me if you want to get out, my boat is at Lindys Landing and your always welcome.

  13. Yeah that. How have you been Jeremy? Long time no see/hear.
  14. Here are some photos of Saturday/Sunday fish. This was Sundays box of 30. One of the better fish from Sunday. This one of a pair of wall quality fish for this lucky lady.
  15. We fished the southern edge of the deep water basin on the East side of the channel. We were in about 22-25 fow about 2-3 miles straight east of the Sparkplug. We trolled NE/SW to follow that SE edge of deep water, right where it just starts to come up on the outer reef (callahan). Used Walker Mini Discs to get the spoons down, mostly 85-110 back. Lite Bite Slide Divers 45 and 55 back hit a couple nice fish also. Saturday in the big water, we only had a couple boats around us. Sunday we had lots of company, lots of nets going up:thumb:. Our best fishing was between 9:30 and 1:00 both days. We set up at 8:00 both mornings and had very slow action until the sun was up higher, then game on.
  16. Fishing is red hot, unreal hot! Saturday I had 4 buddys on the Eyefull II and we pulled a 5 ticket. Lots of really nice fish, several in the 3-5 pound range. Today, I had 5 coworkers aboard and we picked a 6 ticket (30 fish) by 1:00. Today we actually had a late 80's size box. One fish at 29" and several 4-6 pound fish to go along with her. I will post some photos of the wreckage when they all send them to me. Silver Streak Jr's and Minis in UV pinks, purples, and chartrues combinations were all good. The Bay is definetly back.
  17. The short cores will work. It is becoming more and more common on the Bay. If you play around with what you have, and get the spoons down to where the fish are, you will catch them, they aren't all that fussy right now. Good luck and give me a shout if you need any more information.
  18. Forgot, from Linwood you will be able to fish at and past the 1 & 2 boueys (last channel markers) with a manageable run. If the water temps push the fish deeper, that will be a good place to start. You can easily fish water depths of 23-26' around those markers and to almost 40' a little farther north.
  19. I sure hope the fishing is still hot then. With temps in the middle 90's for the next several days, the water will be warming every day. No north blows in sight, so that will also allow the water to warm. Right now the fish are almost everywheres, from 12fow to 24 fow on the inner Bay. Fishing out of Linwood is very good straight out in 16-20fow. As the water warms, I suspect the fish will keep moving deeper. There will be lots of boats indicating where the fish are. I tend to stay away from the packs though as the fish tend to get shy after being pounded all morning. Spoons have been awesome for me. I run 3 or more off each side on big boards using Walker Mini Discs to get them down to the fish. I also run lite bite slide divers over the corners (standard dipsys will work, but much harder to detect a bite). Bottom bouncers may work, but at spoon speed (2.5-3.2) it may be hard to get them down to where the fish are. Walker mini discs, Big Jon mini discs, and the tadpoles are all good ways to get them down. The bouncers may work, you will just have to mess around with leads and such to get the depth. If you have any slide divers, they have been my go to setups for hawgs using Silver Streak minis with long leads (20-40'). I run mostly the Jr's on the board rods. Don't even be afraid to run standard size spoons, they will eat them, even the little guys. I have been using short segments of BR 32# copper once in a while. It does catch fish, but you really have to watch close to make sure a fish doesn't get into it when it swings back to the middle. If you run it (or leadcore) on inline boards it will eliminate this issue.
  20. Way to go sir! That bug hatch was rediculous! We started out SE of 1 & 2, almost bagged it early at noon with only two fish in the box. Took me three hours scrubbing today to get the bugs all out of the boat.
  21. They are a total blast to fish with, loved having them.
  22. I have a 104C, LCX15, and a stand alone Lowrance GPS. The 104C has gone down with GPS module not responding (most likely bad GPS module). The LCX15 shared the same module. I am gutting the two units from the boat and going with a Humminbird 985C unit. If anyone wants the two units, make me an offer and they are yours. There are two gps modules on the hardtop, one may or probably is good, I don't want to mess around with this stuff, so like I said, make me an offer and its all yours. The 104C has a very impressive cartography/mapping chip.
  23. I had a great trip on Saginaw Bay Saturday. It is actually some of the best fishing in at least the last 15 years right now. The past few weeks have produced numbers of fish like never before. This week, the numbers are being backed up by size also. Saturday I had a great crew of good friends and we took home a four ticket. Two wall fish, and several at 3-6 pounds. It fealt like Lake Erie in October. We used Silver Streak spoons in both the Minis and Jr's. UV colors in chartrues, pink, purple, and Kato were all hot. A mini Kato, and a custom CJ/Eyefull spoon off Lite Bite Slide Divers also were very good on bigger fish over the corners. 85-100' back on the Walker discs/spoons, and 45-60' back on the slide divers. We were in the bottom of the deep water basin on the East side. This is the first of two hawgs this luck gal hooked up on. Here is the second. This would have been a good fish all summer, but Saturday it was just so so. A great box of fish for great friends.
  24. Hold on Frank, if the Dog comes East, he owes me a trip aboard the Eyefull first:lol:. That goes for fishsniffer and tangled mess to. Nice box Frank!
