  1. Nice job Roger, that a great picture.
  2. I hope that enough people sign up, the seminar that was held in Hudsonville/Jension a couple years ago was great, and was a big help to me as I was just starting out. this is a great way to meet other fisherman from the site and learn a few things along the way.
  3. Gary - Karen, I'm not sure if Ken is doing the WMFL league this year. Last time we talked about it he was looking for someone else to take it over. I know that last year was a wash due to weather, then work. Ken has been working out of town a lot, if I talk to him this week I'll see what his plans are for this season.
  4. Don't feel bad Mark, I'm glad the big box store is giving up. Cabelas will be a nice place to visit, but still my major purchases will be with the local stores.
  5. Sweet. Thinking out side the box
  6. I have six CV30D. Used on wire dispsys, braid dispsys, & riggers,
  7. Well, I bought the F350, went and test drove the new F150 with the new turbo v6, nice truck, but the used F350 was just a better deal, I still have the Expedition that I will keep as a winter beater for now, may sell it off in the spring to get a small car for daily driver. I really just liked the BIG truck. and this truck is just a beast.
  8. Thanks Joel you and the rest of the GLF folks have a Merry Christmas. everyone be safe.
  9. Congrats Bob on the new boat, If I was starting from scratch again it would be this order. Graph - GPS unit Rod holders & trees Autopilot Kicker - if needed. Speed / Temp @ ball - I ran mine only once last season. good luck on the rigging - if you need any help or advise just give me a shout. Spring is just around the corner
  10. Sign me up for 3. is there going to be free beer?
  11. I hope they are getting ready to go out of business, I won't set foot in that store. Outdoorsmen or Lakeshore will get my dollars. Once cabeles opens it will be a great place to visit, but still local earns the support.
  12. might be able to get a discount on your health insurance as well.
  13. I use to pull my 24 Fourwinns with a 2wd Dodge Dakota. but only 7 miles to the marina, I could launch with no issues, but pulling out I had to use the marina's yard truck. I currently pull with an Ford Expedition, I have only needed 4wd once to get out and that was the ramp in Hessel, MI. it was very steep and wet, used 4 low just for more torque. the 5.4L motor works great, I have 270K on mine now. Plugs have not been an issue, but keep a spare coil pack in the glove box. you will get really good at changing them.
  14. Product looks good, prices seem fair as well.
  15. I found pictures on N II Deep before and after repaint with the Imron paint. it cost just under $5k to get this done, that was back in 2004, it still holds a shine to this day. on the old finish the dark grey would not hold a shine for more than 2 weeks and I tried all kinds of products. it was a very common problem for this age and type of boat. plus by doing the paint I was able to completely change the color of the boat. Before After
  16. Nice Buck, congrats to your Dad.
  17. I took my broken one right to the dealer, they replaced it no issues.
  18. I use to fight the gel coat. Had the whole boat hand sanded and painted with Imron. I wax once per year wash up is really easy now.
  19. Thanks Mike, here is the beast that I'm looking at. I'm really don't want to buy until spring, so If I miss this one - another one will pop up on the market. Jon
  20. Thanks Jim for your feedback, I know I don't want a diesel. I plan on selling the Expedition and trading in my little car the Fusion. Even selling the Expedition out right I will not get what it is worth. the motor has less than 90k on it. the 5.4L does ok for pulling. this f350 I'm looking at is a workhorse and the ride was very rough compared to the Expedition. right now it is more of a "want" instead of a need.
  21. Shane, Fishermans landing in Muskegon. full camp sites, they have a long dock that you can tie the boat up to, down side is no power at the boat. State park in North Muskegon has a ramp thats ok, but water level on that side of the lake is really low. the state marina in Pentwater then a few blocks away is the State park.
  22. ok all. my old but trusty SUV is just starting to wear on me and show it's Michigan age. so I went and test drove a 2011 F350 Superduty extended cab it has 28K for miles. was a real nice truck, the ride was nowhere near as nice as the old Expedtion, but it is a 1 ton truck. it has the 6.2L gas engine in it. Tranny shifted very smooth. any one else driving one of these, what do you get for gas mielage? (I know its a 1 ton truck) lets hear pro's vs con's So far here are mine. Pro's stronger towing power every thing works. insurance cost - could not belive that its only $50/six months different than PLPD on the 14 year old SUV. Con's price (have not had a truck payment for last 6 years+) 6.2L don't know much about this motor - only a 2-3 year old design Ride quality - I don't see us using it to travel on vacation. (if any one's in the market for a 98' Ford Expedition shoot me a pm)
  23. Thanks for the stats Kevin, let's hope 2013 will be just as good.
  24. A safe and joyful day to all.
  25. Thanks for sharing
