  1. Got lines set at around 6am, had a release about 15 mins after setting up but no one was home. Trolled around 35-65fow for the next 2 hours. Had another release and hooked into a 5lb 10oz Lake Trout on a bloody nose spoon 40 down in 45fow. Lots of work today for only one fish but it was a beautiful day out on the water. Pulled the lines around 11am after not marking any fish for quite some time. Talked to DNR at the launch when we got back and they were doing a fishing poll I guess and asked us some questions. The most anybody had this morning was 3 kings and a steelie. Most having just one fish.
  2. I hope the waves died down a little bit in the past day, goin out in about an hour with a friend.
  3. It can't be perfect everyday. There is always next weekend!
  4. Just got back from getting beat up by the waves. We were only out for about 2 hours because of the 3-4' chop. The 18 footer just wasn't cuttin' it. Didn't mark much for the first hour and a half, then trolled towards the arms and marked LOTS of bait fish right outside and around the arms. When pullin up the riggers we were draggin a lil shaker king and that was it. So technically it wasn't a skunk but he was released.
  5. At least you didn't stink like a skunk! Bout to walk out the door to go put the boat in the water, I'll post up when I get back before bed!
  6. Best of all two of them were hens with spawn for some steelhead fishing in the river this fall!
  7. I will upload some pics tomorrow when I get them off my camera.
  8. We got everything set up in 60fow around 8pm in some pretty choppy water. Trolled around for about an hour and a half with no releases, and we were losing hope. Right around when the sun was touching the water we had a release and my buddy hooked up with his first salmon in 65fow on a rigger slide line 45 down. Fought for about 15 mins with two pretty good runs. Netted him, ended up being 17.75 lbs king. 10 mins later had another release. Didnt feel like to great of a fish but he pretty much ran right at the boat. 14lb king. Right as we got the fish out of the net in the boat another release. 15.5lb king on a rigger slide line down 35 in 65fow. First two fish were taken on a spoon which I don't know the name, it was a hammered spoon pretty much all green with a black eye on it. 15.5lb'er came on a bloody nose spoon. Feels great to finally not end up with a skunk! Heard on the radio someone lost a 25lber, then a lil bit later some one thanked the person who lost it because it was in their box.
  9. Leavin here in 5 mins to launch. I'll be listenin for ya on the radio
  10. I did not see one fish pulled it while everyone was close together. Well its an older Lowrance x55 or something like that, and everything went off the screen and started beeping and flashing black. Then it would stop beeping and there would be random black lines all over the screen. When we got home I turned it on twice and it turned on just fine. Then later in the day it would not turn on again. Anyone experience anything like this?
  11. My dad and I washed some spoons for about 2 hours. Dragged Lemon Ice, Monkey Puke, Glow Blue Dolphin and some other spoons with no releases. When we got out there around 10 there were probably 10 boats all trolling right outside the break arms and we were happy to see that. 30 mins later there were no boats there. Only marked a few fish, then our graph took a sh*t on us so that is pretty disheartening. If anyone is looking to get rid of a graph let me know, I may be interested.
  12. Seems like its been pretty quiet the past week on here...Did everyone start hittin the salmon hard and just been keepin it hush hush???? Might go here in a few mins or this evening, I'll post a report afterwards...
  13. Awesome man! Hoping to find some perch in Muskegon soon!
  14. Oh yea lookin forward to some more fishing. One skunk is not going discourage me... On the plus side, this warm water might turn the perch on in the big lake!
  15. Thanks Mike! I wish I could be out there this weekend, but I unfortunately have a busy weekend with work and grad parties...but hopefully I'll be able to get out there sometime next week. Are you always on 72 when out there?
  16. Got out for the first time with my old man and his new boat for some salmon fishin. Got out to 100fow straight out from the arms around 8pm and set two riggers with lemon ice and monkey puke and two dipsys with ext glow blue dolphin and another spoon I dont recall. Had the riggers set to 55 down and 45 down, let the dipsys out 75 and 100ft. Trolled out to about 140fow. Nothing. Tried the riggers anywhere in between 25 and 60 down. Nothing. Didn't mark any bait, and just a few fish huggin the bottom. Threw in the towel and pulled the lines around 10pm. Although we didn't hook into anything it was a wonderful night on the water and got to spend some quality time with my old man and brother. Can't wait until we get out again.
