  3. Well the verdict is in, and it's going to cost 6875.00 dollars... to install new Hydraulic steering and the Auto pilot complete.... Wow... I'm going to h ave to think about this for a few months...

  6. Ok who's sitting at their desk or standing at their work station, or maybe even on the couch in their DEER blind today...screwing around thinking Damn I'd like to be trolling right now!!!!! or even washing the Spoons not even getting a hit, but still fishin?????
  7. Well it's like they always say....." Size Matters" Still researching and getting quotes.
  8. OK Here's the VERDICT..... "Once again KING JIm "Mainiac" Is right... the boat has to be converted to Hydraulic steering because no one makes a AP that will handle "cable steering with Power assist"... Raymarine want to have Barrretts install a new Hydraulic steering system before they will sell me the AP unit.. I am getting quotes to have steering converted to Hydraulic and will let ou all know what I hear but i know it's all going to cost about 6K...and it's still worth it to help the wife out, because she's worth it..... Ok am I making you Ill yet..????
  9. I have Barretts Boat works looking into both options for me, Raymarine or Garmin, I'm going to research both of them myself, and Barretts' sells both type, I'm going to have a certified dealer instll it, might cost a little more, but it's all worth it in the long run.
  10. Ok I''m going to look into that situation, that would suck for sure....this is why I'm looking onto every option there is....Kepp talking guys, I'm learning..
  11. Ok there's not 10" of clearance behind the helm for the drive unit, so that one's out of the question Jim, I'm having Barrett boat works look into it right now, there's a Raymarine unit that works off of the steering pump swithc that activates the steering....I'm just in the prelimnary stages of looking right now and I don't plan on switching to Hydraulic steering..
  12. I wouldn't even pay a dime over what Fishhawk has to offer now, if you go to the Fishhawk website they have developed the same thing and can hook on your dispeys as well, check it out, I saw them in Great Lakes Fishermen magazine the other day.
  13. To each his own right????? I don' t like suffering when it's not neccesary..
  14. Well to tell the truth I have alterior motives... You see my Wife always drives for me, and normally she's in the sun, even with the top up she's in the sun, like when it's coming up or going down and as long as she's driving she cannot get out of it, and this fall they discovered pre-cancerous spots on her face, the side that faces PORT side..where the sun comes in harshly..... so THis is one of my remedies....now she can get out of the sun if she needs to and she can enjoy the boat much more, I bought her a fishing hat that has a large brim, and she looks great in it, but she doesn't think so.. So I'm looking into a pilot to drive for her.. and Auto Pilot....damn I hiope it will work and she doesn't think I'm trying to Replace her... but we all know Women.... somehow it will get turned around.... won't it?
  15. I've got to find out exactly what my boat will take from Raymarine....
  16. Ok I'm looking into this.... I want an Autopilot, but does anyone have an Autopilot for their boat? And How do you like it, Mainiac says it would save My Marriage, (though not in trouble) I think it would free up my Wife so she could read a book, maybe Love me up a little more while we're fishing... Ahh Hell Let me know what you all think...Please. I have to Have a Raymarine one as well, to control the Power steering cable, it's all driven by cable...Imagine that..
  17. Or you could do what Aron did.... easier again
  18. Drill a small Hole through the clamp and the and the rail and insert a small clevis pin, it's easier then having to TAP a hole for a set screw...
