  1. kinda cool seeing the moon set & the sun come up. it was a perfect day for fishing today. we had newbies & nobody chummed & they all got to reel in fish. they remarked that this isn't like fishing in Kentucky. us locals take it for granted but we are truly blessed with the fishery we have. it's fun to take people from another part of the country & let them experience the fishing that we have here.
  2. we fished out of muskegon this morning as we always do & headed north for about a mile to clear the pack. picked up a 6 lb king on a 1/2 core with a green ladderback. about 51 fow. ran out a little deeper & found the scum line & the north nets & took a mixed bag of kings, coho, steelhead,& a big laker to boot. ended up 6 for 8 on a beautiful morning with just about everything working. only one butthead to contend with & i consider that fortunate this time of year. we marked a ton of fish in the 50 ft range but only one biter. 90 to 125 was our best depth this morning. i hope everyone else had as good a day or better.
  3. we went out Friday night after work & they were calling for 2-4's in Muskegon. they were probably 1 or less. beautiful night & took a triple on kings just south of the arms on a north troll & picked up another at dark in about the same place on a south troll. two on lead 10 color & 13 color & two on riggers 48 down. j-plugs have been hot. we've found that Noaa is just as reliable as local news. this is Michigan so i have to give them credit when they are correct. you just have to take the ride & see what your up against. if they are not coming over the bow in the channel we usually fish. i must add that the people fishing near us were true sportsmen as they gave us a wide berth when we hooked up on the triple. a polite request on the radio sometimes works wonders. sorry if this is in the wrong section, i'm kinda new here.
  4. i & a lot of other folks just love skinned filets brushed with olive oil & seasoned with montreal steak seasoning. build a tinfoil boat & add a little oil to the foil so they don't stick & grill on low till done. you're gonna like it.
  5. we've eliminated the snubbers this season on the dipsey's & only lost 1 fish to broken line. hookups are solid & the fight on wire has to be experienced to believe.
