Well the Nee Hi ended up 2/2 with 2 Ho's. Both on flasher/fly on a 1 and 2 color core. Great to meet lots of the GLF crew out there in my home port. What a beautiful day on the lake. Talked to so many at docks , on the lake and was able to help out Silver One at the dock. Kingfisher, i launche next to u right before Mike in my tan 16'. Thought i recognized the name. Have to say Hi next time. Will post pics when the old lady brings me the cord.

Side Note: Found a tackle box on M43 in AM, send me a PM describing in extremely well as the rest have already tried:lol:.

The Nee Hi likes the scales and blood left on the aluminum. Still got plenty of stains left from last year but hope to add some fresh ones!! Its good luck to leave them on. I also dont have 20k wrapped into it. That could be a part also.

Arrrrrrrrrrrr! Theres snow all over my yard today and the lake looks like crap til at least weds or thurs. Normally wouldnt care as i would be working. Got a call Saturady saying my room at school was flooded with 4" of water and no work for the whole week. Also no pay. Normally i would be cool with this if i could go fish everyday but the weather is not cooperating. Thurs or Frid i have to leave to Pennsylvania for Easter with the inlaws. Right about the time its upposed to get nice around here. Thought about hauling boat to Lk Erie but gonna rain all weekend anyways there. Hopefully get out thurs.

OK sorry about all that i feel a little bit better now. Venison tenderloin in the pan with onions and butter is gonna help this morning get better.

Wow that sounds kinda bitter:lol:

#1- More time, of course this will be the goal every year. never enough time fishing;)

#2- More tourneys- only 1 in my life and it was pretty darn fun as i am competitive

#3- Get my dipsy fishing dialed in better,so much to catch fish on over leadcore.

#4- Land a 20#(realistic), had 2 18# last year and lost one next to boat at least 20#

#5- Try to explore new ports- only fished SHaven and StJoe last year- Gas was also at $4.50:( Hopefully stays low for summer

Yes that big thing was there. Its like 17' deep in front of the bridge now. They must be taking quite a bit o sand outta there. Water was pretty chilly out on the lake but me and Fishwhisperer had fun. Coulda used some fish.

FYI-No warmwater down by the plant as they are shutdown right now.

Fished south haven in the Nee Hi saturday morning. Got windy but the waves were just fine in my 16footer. Just big gentle rollers. Water was chilly but not as cold as above the seas. No a single hit. Lots of others out early but they left early too. Good to be out fishing at least. Water was pretty dirty and stirred up. Farther south prob woulda been better fishing. Oh well.

I tell ya these crazy people in Saginaw:no: I gotta ask my cousin about this one as he joined the Saginaw FD about a year ago. Too funny

I believe that its supposed to be an east wind making it rough farther out but should be good closer to shore. Depends on how far ya heading out. I hope it calms down and is decent for the AM. Just checked near shore at top of GLF and both North or South called for 1-2'. Might just wait to head out sunday night with the big 13 footers!!!

This seems to be the popular vote that the well worn, thinner skirts are best. I just tied a crapload of my first batch of flies and tried to make some thinner. Only time will tell this rookie what works best. I did enjoy tying them and had fun making color combos(about 50). Honestly i think i got my $20 worth of entertainment learning how to tie and rigging them. Another hobby to help get thru the winter. Bring on the catchin after all this rigging.

I had mine done at a baitshop. My copper is tied to the line. I have seen in the past a small swivel then wrapped in tape or shrinkwrap to allow it to go through reel. Not sure exactly what knots though. I dont have wire but i know most with 1000' on reel tie direct were as 600' most have leaders. Sorry no better info. A few ideas on this thread search. Had me Dan, I never question what lies in the infamous Hot Ponds. Had some good time s there over the years. Always quite the interesting mix of fish in there.

Looks like the wind blew slushy icey type stuff back into the pier heads. ALthough it doesnt appear to be extending out too far. Just hope it doesnt increase with the cold weather this week. Saw a guy fishing pier in GH on cam. Did a little cruise today on local lake that busted open.

Went around yesterday to check local lakes around Kzoo. Only Austin and West Lake were open. Open spots in others but still lots of ice around them.

Took the Nee Hi out for a little venture today at Austin Lake just to make sure everything was running good and get a little cruise in. Water was 38 degrees. Trolled a few stickbaits for a little bit with no takers. Glad to see open water as welll as a guy i talked to that was launching as i was loading up. Felt great to be cruising wide open on open water!!!

Stash the funds in a paypal account. Small transfers out don't raise many red flags. If you should happen to buy from a seller that takes paypal then cool, there is no paper trail. If not, a transfer back to the bank account can be explained as "I sold a few things I never use anymore and I'm going use the $$ to get "X" " Its like internet money laundering.

I like it. My buddy has been looking at a boat and told me and the old lady that he let something slip to his wife. I said just show up with it. My fiancee said that you should never do anything like that. I then explained to him that its easier to ask for foregiveness than permission:lol:. She did NOT like that comment. Glad to hear a report!!! Im heading to a local lake just to get a little boat ride in and maybe a few bass/ muskie. Wishin going to lk mich but gotta work still today:mad:. Getting to be that time. It rained horribly bad here all weekend too, naturally plenty warm to fish. Thanks for report.
