  1. Well we got a late start for the day but were happy to be on the water. We launched about noonish and headed out to find the others from the morning heading back in. We were rained on for about a half hour or so but it turned out to be a nice afternoon. We ended the day 11 for 12. All fish were lake trout except 1 small king. We trolled the 45ft to 75ft range most of the day and worked a temp break from about 47 to 52 degrees. We caught fish on the riggers, 7 color, and dipsey. Did not seem to matter what we threw out the lakers were on the chew. All in all I had a great time fishing with Jarod and Randy and the boat ran flawlesss. I look forward to many great days on the water this year.

Thanks for a great day on the water! Fun times with some great fisherman.

A few pics of our catch.

  2. Last weekend was pretty nice to get to meet and or talk to the boys from the site. 2Unreel was nice enough to take me and Fishwhisperer out today for his shakedown trip, that was awesome. Lots of good people on this site that go out of there way to help make a good name for all us sportsman.:D

  3. No fishing today so the smoke got rolling! Used a recipe from another site for beans that were amazing., I left out peppers. A nice 8.5# pork butt topped off a delicious dinner!

    :nyam::nyam::nyam::nyam::nyam::nyam:

    DUTCH'S WICKED BAKED BEANS

6-8 strips of bacon cut into 1/2 inch squares

    1/2 Medium onion, diced

    1/2 Bell pepper, diced

1 - 2 Jalapeño Peppers, diced (seeding is optional)

    1 - 55 ounce can Bush’s Baked Beans

1-8 ounce can of pineapple chunks, drained

1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed 1 Cup ketchup

    1/2 - 1 Tbs. dry (ground) mustard

Sauté bacon pieces in fry pan until crispy and remove from pan with a slotted spoon. Sauté onion, bell pepper and jalapeño pepper until tender.

In a large mixing bowl combine beans, pineapple, brown sugar, ketchup and dry mustard. Stir in bacon pieces and vegetables. Pour into a 12X9 or a deep 9X9 aluminum baking pan. (While mixing if things look dry, add additional ketchup 1/4 -1/2 cup at a time)

Place in a 220-250° smoker for 2 1/2 – 3 hours (make sure temperature of the baked beans reaches 160° ) or place in a 350° oven and bake for 1 hour.

NOTE: If you are making these beans as a side dish for Kansas City style pork ribs, smoke the removed skirt meat for 1-1 1/2 hours, then dice the skirt meat and stir into the Baked Beans.

    DISCLAIMER

With the Jalapeño pepper and the dry mustard these beans have the potential for some MAJOR heat. CAUTION should be exercised when feeding these beans to small children and/or the elderly.

  4. Don, When you invite other boat owners and fishermen, they know what it takes in prep time and $ to put a trip together.:)

Amen. Often just swapping trips with others for gas but i always try to help with lines and such. Takes alot o time to get everything set just on the little Nee Hi. Always best to have good company.:D Is it sunday yet with fish on the rod.

Also went thru box that no one would claim. 83 spoons, 7 J- Plugs(2 lighted), 9 flashers, 15 flies, 1 Meat Rig, 1 Squid, 2 Jet Divers, 2 Dipsy, 3 spools line. Ended up giving majority to Sushi man to get his collection started. Keeping me busy on a rainy day!

  6. Stinks for the guy that lost it. When I was starting out a couple of years ago, I left a Plano box full of stick baits on the seat of my boat. When I got to the ramp, it had blown out. Not only did I lose out on over $100 worth of lures, they were the main ones I had planned to use that day. Good idea to put some ID on all your boxes. -- Bud

Yep ur right. Thats why i put online, talked to owner at Pyles Porthole. I know that would kill my summer fishing losing stuff.:( Just cant hold on to it forever. I went through all my stuff and put name/number on it. Know several that have got boards back.

  7. when you decide to claim it as youre own you have to let us know whats in it

Only 9hrs and 42 minutes. My buddy i was with wants part, BUT he has no boat, rods, reels, coolers, motors, etc etc and he got to fish free for the day. And i gave him the 2 fish. Just might have to tell him i found the owner.............ME!!!!! AHHH, i wish i was fishing and not working.

  8. I only need to put it all back together:

    -bellhousing

    -Shift Cable

    -Shift Shaft and Bushings

    -U-Joint/Exhaust/Shift Cable bellows

-And reattach the rest of the outdrive that had new U-joints seals and yoke replaced.

-Top it off with a fresh rebuilt prop

The 2UNREEL needed and outdrive overhaul

Stop typing and start wrenching:lol: We need to get some scales and blood on dat der boat sir!:D

I think this one is EXACTLY identical to last weeks, and that was pretty correct. Im hopin this one is. Its also upposed to be nice and warm so i can show off my sexy waders/no shirt look:eek:

  10. Wouldd be more then glad to take you out but the 25th wont work for me as It is my weekend to work. Wont get out again untill May 2nd.

Thanks for the invite Joe. I will be in North Carolina for that weekend but we need to meet up and do some slaying this spring/summer.;):D

  11. Amazingly i have the identical box as this one. It says Fishsniffer on it but u lost ur chance to ID yesterday, i told ya only ONE chance. lol. Fishsniffer u already tried to ID my Busch Light as urs and ur not gonna have better luck with this. Frank u described it to a T:grin:. Trust me i would like to keep as there is no number or name but i know I would want it back. After last year i got a walleye board back that was in the lake for 2 months, i certainly owe it to try to find the owner. Hes got til next saturday then it integrates into mine.

PS It pays to put a name and number on ur stuff fellas!!!!!

  12. I was just mentioning that yesterday in SH with my buddy. Somebody could just walk/ride up and grab $1000+ in rods. Im nervous going into the gas station with my rods in boat, but its also lower than eye level. Guess it depends on area and good neighbors like Mike said.
