Fishwhipserer and I fished 6-9 in 45'-85' ended up 1-1. 5# king on 5 color with B/W spoon as a we reeled in lines. SLOOOOOWWWW night with only a few boats out and didnt see any caught. 2 riggers, 2 dipsies, 2 core- spoon, plugs, flies, 1 rapala-------Notta! Oh well any night on the water is a great one. At least the water and beer was cold

Do you have issues with the clip twisting? Have you tried drilling a small hole for the pin instead of clipping it off?
I was thinking that same thing. Backwards clip is great idea. I had 2 older church boards that kept slipping and replaced clip with OR 16 clips and really like them rather than wrapping technique.
PS- Just got a board back yesterday from St. Joe that I lost almost 2 months ago, guy called me who found it 4 miles out. There are still some honest fishermen left out there

Good call Mike. U saw it coming from the beginning didn't ya? No wonder you get so many fish in the boat, u can sniff em out just like this. :rotflmao:

No probe or riggers for me so i usually run around 2.7-3.1 on GPS and keep an eye on my dipsies. Works for my little skipper But then again i am pretty new to this game.

Nice Catch!
I guess the SWR rigged with NBK was doing alright for ya:jump:

Did Fishwhisperers deboning on the one king and it was pretty easy to do even for my shaky hands. Didnt bother with the Lakers, wanna try to get them smoked. I need a smoker:(

My buddy got to reel in his first king on braided dipsy:grin:. Let him reel in them leadcore mostly too :rotflmao:

Ran out of pier heads into 58 degrees and sat down in 35'. Started setting lines and had a rip on Bloody nose 6 color in 45fow, shook the hook as heading deep. Turned an ran thru 45' again same rig took off. Laker. Thats 1st one felt like Laker so we turned west looking for kings and didnt have a hit or mark til 100fow. Braided dipsy at 2 out 220' with mountain dew SD and No See um Fly- Laker again(first greaser on fly ever). 8 color core with MS FlounderPounder took a laker. Full color with MS Hapee Meal took LAKER. Braided dipsy at 1.5 out 110' with glow J plug took 7# king. Ended up 5/6 for a nice night but could not get outta the lakers from 45' to 110'. Better than nothing though. More Lakers than i caught all year total:rolleyes: Oh well guess Ill just have to fish more.

To quote Fishwhipserer and another guy:
Take the fillet and cut it in half. That cut should be made where the first bone is at. Then make to two cut, in the boney fillet, on both sides of the bones. Basically you cut the bones out. You do lose some meat. It 's much easer to show someone than it is to type it out.
If use the pulling them out with pliers method, it helps to put them in the freezer first. Just long enough to firm them up first.
Randy
Make a cut lengthwise on the fillet above the row of bones. It will be angled a littel toward the top of the fish, just feel the bones. This will leave you a "loin" piece seperate from teh main fillet. Then make the same cut below the bones. You will cut out about a 1/4-1/2 inch wide strip of bones that goes back about 2/3 the length of the fish. Much more enjoyable to habe boneless eating. Well worht the small amount of meat lost.
btw You can leave the loin piece attached back near the tail where the bones end if you prefer. personally, I just take it right off.
UP Power
Left basically 3 pieces to each filet. Loin above pin bones, chunk below pin bones, tail section. Lose small portion of meat connected to pinbones if that makes sense. As Randy says easier to show that type.

Went 3 for 4 with Fishwhisperer last night in the Nee Hi. Got a little wet on the way out due to "1' or less" waves(Maybe ' = meters?). Mix of copper, core, dipsy. Spoons and flies, no plug bite. Fished 100' to 145'. Didnt get any takers until 8:30 then they started firing. A double double. 3 kings-6#, 13#, 18#. Fun night as always!
Randy demonstrated that deboning technique and got some tasty looking filets.

I need coffee before i post:lol: The power pro definietly broke on the tangle, got my dipsy back from leadcore line(20 flouro) and the snap had bought 4" of PP on it. Guess i dont know on the trip one, my buddy also did that one. Thinking about bumping up to 50# as i have been having bad luck with breaks but great luck catching fish with the braid vs mono.
-
Went 3/4 from 65-115 fow. 3 kings- 7#, 8#, 14#. Glow JPlug on braid mag dipsy 150', starting letting other 1 braid diver out to 175 and hit instantly- Mountain Dew SD with No Seeum. 6 color MS Bloody Nose got into dipsy and got off- dipsy powerpro broke- leadcore reeled in diver at least. Full core Happe Meal took 14#. Pulled lines and had power pro break tripping dipsy and on the fishi wrap deal. 30# powerpro- 3rd time out using it and it broke twice . Beautiful evening
I was outta South Haven, don't know why posted here but close enough I guess!!!

Fished 90-110 FOW. 2 fish came at 93 and 100'. No temp difference i seen, no probe. Priority1, this was my first time headed out so early. It was kinda eearrie heading into pitch blackness with no moon stars or anyting:nea: Had my jacket on and slowed down. Tough netting kings solo, did it in spring for cohos was alot easier.
-
Fished solo. Ended up 1 for 2- 10# on 6 color MS Bloody Nose. Was getting him outta net and other rod went, nothing there by the time i was. 8color MS Flounder Pounder.
