  1. South Havens fish cleaning station is closed for repairs we discovered tues night at 11pm:(. There is a note with directions to a cleaning station by the coast guard aux station. We went over there and this was locked also. Of course its really tight and no choice but to back out of there. What a load of BS, if i didnt have a season pass i would be looking for my $7 back.:butcher:

  2. Ended 7 for 11 in the Nee Hi. 5 kings and 2 lakers. All kings were nice size as was 1 laker. Found other laker draggin on rigger. Wire divers out 250-300 with Mountain Dew SD w/ No See Um and Lg size Glow Frog SD w/ Kryptonite fly. 200' copper with MS Moonshine, Glow Frog SD w/ Kryptonite down 75 on rigger. Nothing on Jplugs at all but did catch a full core with a Jplug on it. First time my buddy caught fish on wire, he had a ROCKIN time!:D Lost the rest of the info in the mix. Had a wire/ copper twist with a fish on each and landed them!!

  3. Thanks for all the help, I think Im leaning towards Jim's suggestion and maybe picking up a handfull of DB's to reach the depths I need. From what I hear theres nothing fun about a full core, Im just thinking about my 9 year old son whining......Plus Jim's got some rookie of the year numbers. Id be happy with half of that my first year:thumb: Thanks again for all the replys.

The fish that it catches are fun. Full core isnt bad, its starts getting a little long after that. My 300' copper is same length anyways. Just my .02;)

  4. I third this, We saw some Logs out 2 miles straight out from Ludington and I cannot tell you How many ballons we've pick up this year, ok I will 10 or more.... it's getting ridiculuos.

Many a balloon here too. One had our last 2 fish to limit out under it. Also a tag from a kids birthday asking to call. They released a dozen.

Havent seen a log since spring but the scare the crap out of me knowing one could be out there in the dark:eek:

  5. Ended up 16 for 21 Sunday night between 3 of us after a little help from my fellow friends. We headed out to 245fow straight out and turned north. Stayed on that line til darn near Arcadia. Ended with 1 steelie, 3 lakers, and 12 kings. Most kings were well into the teens. One king released.

    What worked- 120' down on rigger, 200', 250', 300' 400' copper, 10 color

    - pearl/crush glow big paddle

    - blue bubble flasher/ matching fly out 250' on wire mag dips w/ mag ring on 1.5 setting

    - MS blue ,MS green flounder pounder, MS Sarge

    - blue chilly willy fixed slider about 100' down

    - Mag Mixed Veggie

    - Killer Dolphin

These are what I remember. Never took a bite on J- Plugs.

  6. Heading up to Manistee Sun Aug1 PM trip and Mon morn trip. Never fished out of Manistee and just looking for basic info about area. Things such as were the shelf is and any other landmarks or hazards to look for. Will be on my cousins boat but just give the Nee Hi a shout on ???? channel that is monitored:confused: Thanks in advance for any help guys!!!;)

  7. Congrats on the win. It was a rough one out there. We stayed in Muskegon and had the storms moving north and south of us. We lost a lure on first hit, down to 8 rods :<. It was tough fishing. We(Steve, Mike, Nick) ended in 9th with 4 fish. Got to see some familiar faces and win some prizes. Great catch, great win, and a great tourney!:thumb:

  8. Most certainly. People do it all day long. Everyone uses mono or braid as backer for copper anyways. No clipping to board(at least not me). Walleye fisherman and spring salmon use flatlines(mono) on big boards and inlines all the time. If u want to use a shallow rod for salmon u can use small dive bombs or snap weights to.

If u meant divers (not sure) then yes also. Not as good of depth and tough to trip/release with the stretch of line.

    Hope this helps:D

  9. Ended 7 for 8 in the Nee Hi with Fishwhisperer. Fished 730-1030ish. Fished 70-130fow. Marked a ton of fish in 85-130 on the way out top to bottom with no takers. Fished 9 color, 200, 250' 300'copper, braid and wire dipsy, and 1 rigger. Mostly fished flies and j plugs with one spoon out.

Killer Dolphin on 250' took 2 fish. Laker and Brown.

One small laker on 300' dragged awhile on a green/UV flasher (throw back:().

Rigger down 45' with mini MS Mongolian Beef was dead, dropped to 51' instant hit- king, dropped again- instant hit- jumped and shook it, dropped again- 1 minute- king, dropped again- 3 minutes- king, dropped again- 15 minutes- king.

Slow start to a decent day. Good to get a brownie in the boat. 75fow was best later.:D Water laid down nicely. Surface temp 77 everywhere. Did collect a balloon and a new volleyball we named "Wilson":)

  10. Ended 7 for 9 in the Nee Hi with Fishwhisperer. 4 lakers and 3 kings. Fished 130-150fow after a nice swim on the beach. It was toasty!!

JP Slammer Killer Pickle was hot lure and 1st time ever used a slammer:thumb:. This took 3 fish on a rigger down 142' as a fixed slider up 20'. The bottom of the rigger was a 11" Double Pearl Paddle with Blue Mist Siggs Rigg that took 2 fish. 400' copper with MS Flounder Pounder took 1. My wire rod took its 1st fish of the season 235' out on 2 with a Mag ring- double crush glow Lg size Spin Doctor with a Green Siggs Fly on its way out after switching up flies. Missed a fish on the 400' copper and 200' copper. Marked alot 60-70 down but caught all deeper. It was a day of 1st with my wire rod, JP Slammers, and big paddles/flashers. Surface at beach- 83, 130' surface- 77. The Nee Hi gets er done again on a beautiful day!!!

    Pics to come

  11. Ended up 8 for 11 with Fishwhisperer in the Nee Hi. Set down in 80fow and trolled out to 145' and back in. Ended in 85'. Copper seemed to be best with 200', 250, and 300' taking the most hits. 2 on rigger 80' down and 60' down slider 10 up. Ran one wire dipsy with nothing. I believe 6 kings and 2 lakers. MS Flounder Pounder, MS Double Trouble, MS Mongolian Beef, Mag. DOC, Mag. Mixed Veggie, Mod. Blue Dolphin and NBK all took hits. Thought it might be a bit choppy but it was a gorgeous evening out there. Biggest fish was about 12-13#. The Nee Hi gotter done as usual:D
