  1. I tried mine yesterday and it worked fine.
  2. Okay. What version of Adobe player are you running? I believe this one is 10, if yours is a lower version it won't work. Easy fix- download the newest version, Right click on screen and clickon about adobe 10. Another possibility is that your connections speed may be too low. RAM on your computer could also be low- clear temp. internet files and reboot These are just ideas, not sure it will work. None are damaging in any way, so it can't hurt to try.
  3. Click on the forums link, click on the private video discussion, open first post to get username and password, back out- 2x, chose video player, enter username/password, pop popcorn, get beverage, click on topic, enjoy
  4. Thanks for the response. I assume I soak the wood chips before putting them into the pan, correct? Would it be worth it to try to put a thermometer on it or in it?
  5. I just picked up a Big Chief smoker from a guy who was giving it away. I was wondering if anyone has/uses this type of smoker? It is electric and the one I usually use is charcoal, so I'm looking for a little advise about smoking time. How long, what temperature does it reach, preheating, or whatever nugget of information you might have for me. This would be used as a secondary smoker, for stuff during the winter months. I was thinking about making something to put around it to insulate it better. I know they make a insulated cover for it, but several reviews of the product say it is a tight fit and you may have to remove the handles for it to fit properly. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks
  6. What Ken said! I'm sure there isn't a person here that hasn't someone help them along the way. I left another site because of the same crap. Here, guys give a lot of information without having their arms twisted, or belittle you because you didn't already know something. Ask away Phil, ask away! And thanks to Mike and all the moderators, for keeping the site friendly.
  7. That's awesome Matt! Way to be persistent. Sounds like a great job to have, especially during summer months. Good Luck!
  8. I have two wire setups that I use to run my dipsies. One is single strand while the other is braided. I wondered the same thing when I first ran then, so I messed around with both setups to see if either produced better in certain areas of the water column. I found it didn't matter, both catch fish with equal success. The single does take more space on the reel, and is less flexable. I agree with the personal preference idea. When the single strand gets to short I will replace it with the braided wire.
  9. Ok, It's been 5 weeks since my boat went into storage. Now I'm stuck thinking about next year and trying to figure out what to change that won't break the bank. I decided to take a look at my spread and wondered about my short core rods. My wire rods are 7ft, my copper rods 8ft, rigger and leadcore rods 8.5 and 9.5 ft. I got to thinking that swapping my 2-4 color reels to 10 ft rods would give me a little room in the spread. My dad and I are usually the only people on the boat. On ocassion we will 1 or 2 guests. First question, Should I switch to the longer rod? Second question, If I do switch what action rod should it be? M, MH, H? What do you think, is it going to make a difference or should I spend $$$ elsewhere? Was thinking 3 or 4 rods. Thanks in advance.
  10. You don't attach to the leadcore. This rig only has 1-3 colors on it to begin with. So you let out all the leadcore then attach your release to your mono or whatever backing you have on the reel.
  11. I use the Blacks release and the Dubro release. They are the same style just different maker. Both are adjustable.
  12. I have a new Cannon rod holder up for sale, box is open. It is still sealed in the plastic and all papers are included. It is the rail mount model. This will fit a round or square rail 3/4" to 1 1/4 ". It is also a ratcheting holder, allowing you pull the holder straight up to remove the rod. It is 10" and has 6 locking positions. They are $95 -$100 in stores. Make me an offer. I'll use shipper of your chose, you pay actual shipping cost.
  13. Tony, I have had fish and other meats last well over a year without any freezer burn or any other issues.
  14. I've been using a food saver of 4 yrs now. No Issues yet. We'll see.
  15. Welcome to the site. Bunch of great people on the site willing to give you a ton of info. Hope you enjoy it here.
  16. I haven't been out in a while, but I plan on checking in with the guys at Fish On before I go out this weekend. They are in Nunica on M104. They are always a great help. You can always give them a ring.
  17. I know several guys really hate snubbers and never run them. I on the other hand, have increased my catch ratio by using one on my wire setups. I have been using the 6in Luhr Jensen. It's a little thick, but it works. For those of you who run snubbers, what type and size do you use? What made you choose that one over the others?
  18. Fish came 130 into 125, but when I turned to go back through, we got nothing. The water temp changed drastically. When we were coming in we had 50-54 at 75 and 48 at 90. Going back we couldn't get below 63 in the same range. I was following my gps breadcrumbs so I know I was closed to the same line we came down. I tried moving out and the water was the same. I don't know what happen on that one.
  19. Ventured out this evening. Lake wasn't too bad, 1ft with 3ft rollers. Headed out to 120fow and set lines. Made our way out to 200 fow and came back in. Got our first bump 90 down, in 165 fow on nuclear veggie. Was on for a minute then gone. Didn't get another bump for another 40 mins, then the copper goes with a blue bubble fly, and then the dipsy 150 back with a no see um fly. Landed both #6 king and #12 king. Got the rods reset and the nuclear veggie goes again. Same as last time, there for a min then gone. We swapped out the hooks and sent it back down. Barely in the water 2 mins and it goes again. This time it's not getting away, #8 king with my owner hook buried deep in it's jaw. Did ok, 3 for 5. Lake calmed down nicely. Make sure those hooks are sharp boys!
  20. I think you have a good idea fro your setup. I run Okuma 30's for my downrigger rods and 45's for my cores. They work fine but you need to watch the amount of backing you put on for the cores. Make sure you use a superline to insure you get enough backing, that's mainly a full core issue. Hope it helps.
  21. You may want to check the Big Jon stuff. I think they may match. Just a thought not sure its accurate.
