littleboat Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Fished solo 5:30am-10. Three foot waves almost the entire time. 2/6 both kings 8.1 & 8.8 lbs. Best depth was 100-110 fow. Waves were from the south. Of course, I was going south when I caught both fish. What a pleasure it was getting beat up. Only one tangled today when the last king took the diver with a flasher and fly into the starboard rigger. Went thru my usual routine of cutting the rigger rod line and carefully separating the braid from it. Lost fishing time, but it all turned out ok. 1- king, 7:09am, 8.8#, on rigger slider Green Goby std, ball depth 80 in 109fow. 2-king, 7:57am, 8.1#, dragon slayer flasher with grn/blue fly on low diver back 170 Humidity was really starting to build when I called it a day. Reel-y-hooked Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Well done again Ed. Some how you pick the windy sessions and the kings that want to run sideways. 1
zgrinder on Fin Warrior Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Ed, I am reading the buoy wind wave reports and man are not in line with real-time lake action. I would bet had you known this you might have picked another day. But a BIG congrats on making your gear work to boat a couple of kings. My respect ! 2
littleboat Posted July 17 Author Posted July 17 You're right, I definitely would have waited for a better day. The forecast has been well off target lately. Unfortunately, by then, I'm usually passing the pier heads.Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
