rlee3
I have a 1972 Johnson 20hp long shaft tiller steer outboard for sale. When I got it it ran, but would pop into neutral under high load. The research I did led me to believe it was the clutch dog worn. I tore it apart and the edges were worn on the clutch dog. Currently the lower unit is off and all pieces are still there. I have a factory service manual to go with it as well.I had taken the clutch dog and gears to a local machine shop who had cleaned up all of the edges of the mating surfaces of the clutch dog/gears. Lower unit hasn't been reassembled.Located in Hope, Mi 48628$250 Edited January 1, 2015 by rlee3
