Killin' It
Fished with my Father in law this morning for a quick trip. (3 hours)With everyone fishing south of Holland, I figured I would take a run north and see what I could find....Set up in 50 FOW around 7:45 and had my first fish by 8 am.6-7 pound king on the bottom on a diver Trolled around for another hour with nothing going other then the diver slammed and released... Stick??? Log??? body??? none the less no one home.Once again I was pounding the bottom.2nd fish came about an hour later. 50 down on a rigger in 60 FOW.4 pound lakerTraveled almost all the way to PS and didnt mark JACK!!!Take it for what it is worth... IT IS A WASTE LAND up that way..All hits came on a N trollAll hits came in the bottom 10 feetCores didnt do jack.Pulled lines at 10:30Off to work

Killin' It
I have had a few people ask what I have been getting my fish on... I call it luck, but I will post it anyway.I have been doing well, running a 2-3 fish average for a 3 hour trip. Brad's Cut plugs have been my bread and butter.Running a six man spread I have been running 1-3 in the spead. Starbord side5 color Mag spoonDiver flasher w brads cut plugrigger gets a spoon or tin can w/ spin glowPort sideRigger Brads cut plug cleanDiver with a spoon8 color Brads cut plug cleanIf I am only running 1 cut plug it generally stays on the diver or the rigger. If I am getting more hits from kings I will leave it on the flasher combo. If I am finding more lakers I will put it down on the bottom on the rigger. If I am running a tin can spin glow on the opposite rigger the brads cut plug 50-100 feet back on the bottom has been my bread and butter. Matching the cut plug to the spin glow color seems to be critical. I am no expert, but this is what has been putting a few fish in my box.
