NOAA announces $9.2M to restore fish habitat in Great Lakes

A great start but it seems to me that restoring our baitfish populationwould do more good to our fishery. Plant more browns, steelhead, and coho and less chinook. Chinook were planted to take care of the overpopulating alewives, but since then our alewife population has fallen greatly (of couurse not all of it is to be blamed on the kings), we could plant less kings and focus on trying to eradicate quaga mussels and restore the plankton to our lake. If they could find a way to do this, we could call ourselves fishigan again!
