  1. I saw a wonderful sunset this week and it just spoke to me and how lucky we all are that we live in such a beautiful place and have such a wonderful gift to enjoy the great out of doors. I decided to put stuff away tonight. I am sort of bummed like most years but what a great summer of fishing!
I want to say thank you to all of you that contributed to this forum and shared their successes and fails. You helped make me a better fisherman and more successful each and every time I went out. I hope I helped you as well.
All the best to you all and I can't wait for next season.

I hate the last Fall goodbye to the lake. We are going to give it a couple more tries. We caught a 35 inch king on Friday and three more decent fish. So there are a few hungry fish still out there.

  2. beautiful morning
    the Harvest moon
    the freighter
    the sunrise
unfortunately this run is jinxed with warm water - no bites - started down off Saugatuck and then PUG returned to Holland in 5-6footers and gave that a shot too - even several charters off GH coming up empty - both rivers were 3 degrees colder than the big lake which is not a good sign! heard of 4 matures caught NW of GH in 170fow 140-150down so PUG is still hopefully that there might be a cold front and run yo target

Bummer. That water temp can certainly be a challenge. I don’t like the combat fishing in close so will chase the silver fish out deeper this coming weekend.

  3. Hey everyone. I want to thank everyone that sent messages and offered suggestion that really helped. The network of fishermen here is strong. Thank you again everyone.
10 for 14 and a ton of fun. 90-140fow. Once you find the troll angle...you are good. Meat, spoons and flasher flies all worked. Tried a whole bunch of new stuff this morning. Big Red next week! It's going to be fun!

Great job! We only caught 3 today but had many lost fish. Meat worked best.

Anyone been out up there? Any suggestions?

It is hard to know with the warmer water that has moved in. We will be out in Whitehall too.

Lots of fish swimming in to the downrigger at [emoji[emoji6]][emoji6] ft but not hitting the flasher fly. Watching them on Livescope.

    Good Luck!
Going out in the morning if weather allows.

  6. Was happy to find out the storms had cleared up, so we launched the boat and lines down by 5:30am. Took a pounding from the waves.
1: 6am SE troll 3.0mph, 93FOW, rigger down 55 with a blue SD and a  blue button fly.
2: 6:10am SE troll 3.0mph, 90 FOW, 10 color (down 35ft) chrome dodger with UV Glow Green Jeans.
    3: 6:20am N troll 2.5mph, 85FOW, rigger down 65 with Silver Horde plain glow.
    4: 6:45am N troll 2.5mph, 79FOW, rigger down 65 with Silver Horde plain glow.
Went 4/4, pulled lines 7am. Great day!

Was that a [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] inch flasher?
I would never have gotten to work on time. Good job.

  8. Holland 7/3 pm Solo 2-2

Fished 7-9 pm in 95-145 FOW with no hits. Then things changed.

9:00 pm: 27 lb king, rigger down 78 ft, 90 FOW, Rasta goose std, was quite a fight and fun netting it solo. IMG_9006.thumb.JPG.553305651bae190a8862982e5aea4fd3.JPGIMG_9007.thumb.JPG.9cec0ae7dfeae673c828d7d72defe3cc.JPG

9:20 ish: after getting the big one netted I realized it had tangled with my diver. Before I could get the tangle cleared a 9 lb king hit the diver. What fun. Wrapped the diver line around a pole holder and got the tangle fixed before the fish got off the diver line.
9 lb king, diver back 225 on 3 setting, meat rig. Called it a night.

2 hour boat ride and 30 minutes of chaos.

Not sure why these stupid emojis are messing with the titles.

  9. First trip of the season. When we got out we realized we forgot to put the boards in the boat so we were stuck running two lines . We trolled from 7 to about 10:30 am sticking in 40-60 ft right around port. We ended up 1-1 with a 9# king. Here's what took the fish:

Michigan stinger standard size jordo spoon 35 ft down on a downrigger in 50 fowPXL_20250427_122304785.thumb.jpg.511eb1cc259cdc79fee1a6c94cc9323f.jpg

Hoping for some beautiful kings like the OP had soon...

    Wow!
We went for on Saturday with master angler Brown Trout.
