  1. 3 for 3 today fishing in and around the dirty river water. We got a laker on a Brads thinfin on a 3 color in 35 fow. And 2 coho pulling lines. One was on a copper thinfin and the other on a jaegar bomb spoon, both around 30 fow.

Got tired of the wind and the waves or we’d sill be out there.

    • Coho 7 for 8; in 20-30’ between Deerlick Creek and Palisades Plant; fire tiger and green/yellow body baits; half on 1C and half on high lines back 60’ on inlines.
Speed 2-2.5; all hits trolling south into SE waves.
      Nice day on Big Blue.

    Thanks Dan.
I hope to get out soon.

  2. Fyi... The DNR has pulled 2 of the ramps and closed off the big parking lot across the street from the launch site. I suspect they pulled 2 of the ramps out of PS also, but I haven't verified it. The big lake has all cold water now. The last blast from the rain and wind storms did the job.

Of course, now that we might actually catch some fish. Well, April is coming I guess.
    Thanks for the info.

  3. Fished this morning from 0500 till 1200. Worked 110-190 but nothing happening. Marked a good number from 120-145.

Fished tonight from 600-1000. Worked 120-150. Nothing doing 0/0 a few marks but but like this am.

Talking with guys at the launch this am and pm it was slow for everyone. I was definitely not the only 0/0....

I feel your pain. My last two trips out of Holland were skunks too. Seeing that a new state record was caught in Ludington will keep me fishing, but the skunks are discouraging.
    Thanks for the report.

Great job! Thanks for the report. I was up in Manistee yesterday and we got 6 fish. 5 Lakers and only 1 king. Hopefully we will see more kings here in Holland and Grand Haven now.

  6. First time out in a couple of weeks, dock to dock 3:30-6:30. Started in 90 FOW and trolled to 120. Marked schools of bait both suspended and on bottom. Worked south in 95-115 for an hour with no bites. Marked quite a bit of bait and a few fish. Turned west. Very few marks beyond 120 FOW. Caught a nice coho (6#) in 165 FOW on a mixed veggie UV Stingray. Pulled lines in 170 FOW. The flies were much more active than the fish.

Thanks for the report. I am not surprised that the flies are starting . Hopefully the water is beginning to set up and we will be able to be find the fish soon.

  7. 2 for 2 from 4-9:30.

Set up in 80 with 9 rods.

Nice steelhead in 95 feet on 5 color with a freakin veggie.

Typical coho on the rigger down 40 in 97.

The cotton on the water was a real pain. It collected on the lines at the planer boards and was terrible to get off.

    Tight lines,

    No kings.
But guys that came in behind us got a nice king, a steelie and 2 lakers. King was in 50fow down by Palisades.
50-55 fow is where the kings hang out when they first come in here.

    Thanks Dan!!
Hopefully we will see you Saturday.

  9. GAC:
Yes city launch is accessible. You have to follow the detour signs, or from Phoenix take Bailey north to Wells round about then go west on Well or take Wells west off the Blue Star. All 5 docks are almost always above water. Sometimes the 3 on the left the aprons are under water. I've always used the 2 east ones and have never had to wade in a few inches of water. They have always been dry.
    Good luck.

    Thank you!
I am helping a buddy tomorrow on his new boat and first trip. I hope I can get him on some fish.
