  1. We never weighed the fish but an educated guess puts the big one in the 23# range. This was just one mornings catch and we had similiar results all three days. I'm tuning up my gear today, and taking off tomorrow about noon. I'm addicted to screaming reels, and the whine of the downrigger cables as the wind whistles through them. This was Jake's first Salmon trip, and I'm sure it will not be his last. It's great when you can turn a kid on to the right things in life.
  2. I was in Manistee a little over a week ago. Glow squids behind a fishcatcher, as well as Glow Moonshines, Green Dolphin Yellowtails and kavorkians, did the trick. We fished 120-240 FOW with riggers set @ 50 - 120, and #1 Dipsys 125 to 175 back on a 3 setting with rings. We took fish on everything, including some free sliders. We were there for 3 days. I am going back to Manistee this Tue and will return Fri. This is a pic of my grandson Jake with a mornings catch. Take a kid fishing.
  3. This prop will fit a 85-150 HP Force or Merc OB.
  4. I would be very interested in that. Isn't the WWW GR8.
  5. Ditto. Chartruse blades, and brass blades on harnesses, continue to do the trick. 30-40 FOW. Watch your graph and put the harnesses in their face. 1-2 MPH on the GPS. Riggers, snap weights, and inline weights. Sometimes it's not even necessary to run the boards. I have heard of people doing well with Tots, but I hate to kick a winning dog.
  6. You can't go too far wrong for $150 if it runs and the seals are good. What you will need is a long shaft model kicker motor. The long shafts are about 20 inches. The shortys are 15 inches. If it's a shorty it will not work well as a kicker on your boat. I hope this helps.
  7. The above #s sound reasonable. Marine equipment is built a little tougher than the average auto. If you can back off about 600 - 1000 RPMs after getting on plane, and not run wide out all the time, it can make a significant difference in engine life. Auto engines never see 4000-5000 RPM for extended periods.
  8. We fished out of AuGres Fri morning. 3 footers with a 4 once in a while. 2 of us only managed 6 keepers, but others did better. Conditions were a factor for us old farts. (Good Excuse eh?? LOL) 32-40 FOW meat, 2ounce inlines 75-100 back 1.5 MPH GPS. Chartruse
  9. I can Run 10 rods @ a time. 6 rods off the four riggers, 2 slidedivers, and 2 Dipsys. With planer boards on both sides I run up to 8 rods. The boat also has 2 55W Halagons to light up the fishing area. It also has a remote control Spot light. For Electronics it has a GPS Sonar Combo (Lowrance) and a FishHawk speed and temp. @ the rigger ball.
  10. I have 4 Cannon Electric Downriggers mounted on a home welded Aluminum board with SS supports. I can pull two Big Planer Boards off the upper front portion of the hardtop. The planerboard lines are dog snapped to Two SS eyebolts on the upper front of the hardtop. The boat is powered by a 4 cyl. 140 Mercruiser that was upgraded to Electronic ignition. The boat is an 86 model that I have owned for a little over 1 yr. I spent a lot of time this Winter doing repairs to the boat and trailer.
  11. I fished on the EyeTerminator again today 37-40 FOW AuGres. Meat/W Bouncers.. We had 10 Fish boxed beteen 7:40 and 9:40 AM., with a few throwbacks. The wind swung around to the N. NE and it was like fipping a switch. (To the OFF position). LOL We had 3 men on the boat.:Chernobyl:
  12. I got a couple of clear Plano boxes, 4 Shakespeare line counters to add to some Diawa Eagle Claw combos (old rods and reels). I spent a little time tying up a dozen crawler harnesses. It looks like it's going to be too rough to fish tomorrow so I'll do a few things to my boat.:Chernobyl:
  13. Mercury prop 13-1/2 DIA X 17P Good condition. 15 spline $50 Other #s on prop P685 and 685265
  14. I fished on the Eye Terminator today and we boxed 5 fish for three of us, with a quite a few undersize fish. Next time out on my boat I'm pulling the big boards with some Tots and spoons. I will have the meat on board for a change up. 40 FOW straight out from the mouth of the AuGres River. Perch fishing should start heating up in a bit. We saw one perch fisherman getting a few.

  16. Fished AuGres again this morning, Two man limit. We were on my boat today two rods with bouncers off the back, and one rod with in line weights off each side. purple harness and chartruse harnesses did the trick. 40 FOW about 1.5 MPH on GPS. Shoulda been there Mike. LOL:)
  17. I fished on the Eye Terminator Sunday out of AuGres, with Kuz. We picked up a two man limit of eaters. All in all we boated more than 20 fish. Bouncers in 40FOW about 6 ft off the bottom. Chartruse and Fire Tiger blades on the harnesses. A VG morning to be on the water.
  18. TY for the pic post info Mike. I'll try it now. Come on over we'll catch em and cook em.
  19. YW Mike, glad I could help. :Chernobyl:
  20. I fished with Kuz today in Augres. We boxed 6 eyes, 2 perch, farmed 4, and lost one @ the boat. Our largest Walleye was 6-1/2#. All fish came on 2oz bouncers with a mix of colors on the harnesses. Our largest fish went for the fire tigger right next to the boat (no board). 40 FOW
  21. Here is a link for MI rules. It looks like 8ft except on certain designated hiways, then it's 8ft 6in. with out needing special permit. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/Loads_dim_87014_7.pdf
  22. Magnum Or Regular Spoons, Yep that's what I use. LOL Find out what they want and spoon feed em.
  23. I set up 2 Dipsys, first then the riggers, then 2 more dipsys or slidedivers. Sometimes when the dipsys are hot It's tough to get a rigger down.
