Welcome aboard Little Nemo. You will like it here. Let us know if we can help in any way.

I just took a peak. I'm there from waaaaay back.

-
TY for the report Mark. It will pick up soon.

Fantastic Crewsout.

-
Bill, Sent you a PM on how to post a link.

Mike here is a link to After Market's trouble shooting trim systems. They probably have the parts also. You may want to check other sources also. They are VG on most parts but not on all.

I just had a thought. With your battery being bad, could it be that there is enough power to click the solenoid but not enough to turn the pump motor?
-
Im guilty...It didnt completely suck though..Anytime I walk on narrow slippery logs over the top of freezing cold rushing water and dont fall in I consider a great day.
Mike, It sounds like heaven to me.
My wading days are over. These two new hips are GR8, but they have limitations. I get a thrill just reading about it. I can't wait to get a boat under my butt.

They have a solenoid that controls the trim pump. It's EZ to trouble shoot but on most boats it's in a VB place to get at. I had problems with mine last year, and remove the whole assembly to trouble shoot. Mine ended up being the wires going to the trim switch on the throttle. I thought about repairing the wires but it looked like they would be doomed to the same fate. I pulled the wires out of the throttle shift control and installed a new DPDT momentarily on switch on the dash. I think there is an up solenoid and a down solenoid, that control the trim pump. The three wires are necessary to make the pump function Up or down.
I know some good electricians in your area if you need any help.
The Devil made me do that.
I just looked and found a schematic. I'll scan and Email it to you.
Can you hear the motor run??? These Trim units use motor oil as their hydraulic oil. Check the fuse. Once you take the trim pump assemble off the transom you may have a better shot at trouble shooting it. On mine I couldn't see nothing until I removed a couple of screws and got the unit out where I could see it.

We have been seeing a good comeback in perch numbers the last few years out of AuGres.
-
It's been cold here. I need to pull mine out of the garage, and grease all the zerks. I also need to run it with the ear muffs on. I rebuilt the fuel pump, so I want to check that. The launch sites are not the place to find out there is a problem. The first or second time I launch I need to replace a keel roller. It will take two minutes Tops.

Roger, It must be Mike.
That's what you get for leaving your good luck charm home.
It's better than I did. I haven't been out yet. -
Friday the AuGres River @ the DNR Launch was still iced in. It looked like it was starting to open up near the highway.
It could be open now. -
GJ Ed. That's a good kind of tired.

I like your dream Dan except the rude awakening.

I seldom fish weekends any more, unless the weather is bad during the week.
Education is the key. You need to pass a test to drive a car or truck. What makes boating so different?? Some of these boaters and fishermen don't have a clue. The Power Squadron, and C.G. Aux. offer classes all the time. Fishing and boating mostly on the week days, doesn't mean that you will never encounter these uneducated so called sportsmen. Fishing the week days does limit the number of them.

Last Spring the AuGres River Mouth was blocked by fishermen anchored and cross trolling the channel. The Buoys were not in yet and these uneducated ?????? thought it was their God given right to do so. They would not give way to someone coming out or going in. A larger boat can't leave the channel. I was aboard a friends boat, and saw him tear up a $600 SS prop trying to avoid some ?????s planer boards. I will be as courteous as I can, but I'll run over lines before risking damage to my boat.

The cone (beam) angle is different. Does anyone know what difference that makes? I want to make the ducer flush to hull so I don't foul the trailer bunks during launch and haul out. Where is the best online place to buy?
The Cone beam angle makes a huge difference. A very narrow beam is used for extremely deep use, and a wide beam for shallow use. In other words a narrow beam will show a normal amount of detail when focusing on the depth it was intended for. If you use a narrow beam focusing on shallow targets, you may be only be viewing an area the size of a dinner plate.

The four Stacker Releases are still FOR SALE. These can be taken apart and used as singles. Get twice the bang for your buck.

-
Thanks for the information.

-
Cazz, Catch and Release. Well at least you have the release part down pat.
We all have been there. Better luck next time Rich.

I would still put it near the sonar. The helmsman can always yell back to bump the speed one way or the other. Put it on the dash, and I'm 95% sure you will like it there. If you don't like it there say "Dog Gone it Frank".
If you don't like it move it next season. -
WTG Roger and Teresa.

I would install it near the sonar. You need all that information at quick glance. With my setup I never troll alone. I expect the helmsman to relay all the information. When I have a rookie driver, I'll sometimes check it myself. But as stated above the helmsman needs the speed information to vary the throttle.

What makes the Flatfish less speed tolerant is where the line attaches. This attaching point creates a very large bill, that will make it dive. I have a few of the large flatfish. I was thinking about trying to drill one or two holes down from the attaching point. I thought I would put a bead chain swivel through the drilled hole with a split ring to keep it from pulling through then attach the line to the bead chain. Even using the original attaching point, these holes should make them more speed tolerant. If the holes don't work, I can always plug them. I'll let you know how this works. If I can get these flatfish to perform @ our normal Salmon speeds, I think they will work as well as a J-Plug for Salmon. A lot of the NW anglers uses these flatfish with Herring and Sardines on them. It may be that tweaking these plugs will not work. Some things just were meant to run SLOOOOOWER. But I'm going to try a lil tweaking. The flat fish my also be a good bait for drift boat fishing and back trolling where a slower presentation is required. I know they are used in River Fishing in the Pacific NW.

Some boat tags expire also, mine did.
Ya gotta pay to play.

No oil required. Mine picks up a slight oil film as the season progresses. The engine oil breather goes into the flame arrester. I clean mine twice a year.
