I keep old busted rods, and use them for parts. I never tried to repair a eye, I just replaced them. Wrap them with thread and steal some of Beth's clear nail polish and give them a few coats. It will likely P-ss her off, but the rod will be good as new.

Congrats on the new arrival. Nice going on the meat rigs.

Sit it out until mid July, and it will be HOT. It's a good time to chase some walleye.

-
I need to give out one more word of thanks. Thanks Walleye Express for picking out a great selection of colors!
Darn right they were good colors. We set up and never switched a lure.
Dan always has good information.

GJ Joe.
Thanks for the report. -
Heck in 40 FOW you could get down with inline weights or bouncers. Capt Ray is on the case. GJ:)

She is looking good. Thanks for the history of the site.

GJ Bill:) Great catch. We all have experienced being on the good end and the bad. Sometimes everything just goes your way, and sometimes not.

Sorry you missed the weigh in Alex. You had a nice catch.
A few years back we won a small tournament in Harbor Beach. We just made the cut off by 3 minutes. A friend who made a long run along with us missed it by about 5 minutes. It's the pits when it happens to you.

It was a beautiful day on the water, with a great crew, and two little guys name Hunter and Wyatt. A BIG thanks to Big Jack, rogerh69, and GLF. We did have one glitch, that GLF fixed in a heck of a big hurry. Our main line on our starboard drift bag broke, and the bag wrapped up in the prop. We removed the cooler and Mike H. got out on the swim platform, and saved the day. TY Mike. We were almost through fishing and finished up with just the port bag. I run just one bag a lot of the time. If it's a little rough I run two bags to stabilize the boat and of course slow us down. I now have some swivel hardware for the bags, and will increase the diameter of the mainlines on the bags. We ran the same program I was posting for a couple of weeks. We never switched a bait, and boated well over 20 Keepers. Saginaw Bay has a FANTASTIC walleye fishery. I got a good nights sleep last night. The last few days started at 3-4AM and I didn't get to bed any earlier that 11:30PM. A HUGE TY to Michigan Stinger and GLF for a great tournament. It's always a good time with the guys from this site.

Good job Dan, spoon feeding those eyes.

Thanks to GLF Mike, for running a great tournament and website. Thanks to Michigan Stinger for providing a fantastic lure package at a super price. It was pleasure to have Mike and his two boys aboard. Mike's boys are about 6 and 3 years old, and are the best behaved kids, I have ever seen. Like always, fishing with Big Jack, and rogerh69, makes for a fun trip.

But with the June slow down the July speed up can't be far off. Love that Salmon Slammin.

I fish for Lake Perch on the Saginaw Bay, and have noticed that the perch have gorged themselves with the water fleas. I guess they are off the shrimp family, and the perch sure like them.

Welcome to the site Carl. A lot of members here have that size boat, and will surely ring in with some advice.
Again, and very warm welcome to you. -
WTG Phil, Adam, and crew. I can't hardly wait to "Gitter Done" on the PlumCrazy.

-
Thanks for the tip on the seat pedestals. Some of the things like that are easy to miss when maintaining the rest of the boat.
Despite the issues, that sounds like a great couple days to me! I'd spend a few days like that any time.
You would be welcome anytime.

We stayed on shore Thursday morning, but decided to make a late afternoon run. I was trying some new waters in search of some HOGS. We were swinging for the bleachers, but only managed some solid base hits. We used our usual, Purple, Chartreuse, Glow Tiger, and Orange harnesses. We had more throw backs than our usual runs, but managed 12 nice Walleye. We fished shallow and deep in search of that elusive HOG. I had my good friend and fishing bud Joe A. here for three nights, and two days of fishing. Joe and I fished from Grindstone City to Rogers City and a few Lake Michigan ports. It was a great pleasure, to have him help on the back of the Priority1.
TYVM Joe. Joe did all the S.S. and Aluminum welding on my custom rod holders and downrigger board. I helped him cut and fit his rod holders. In addition to to my extremely busy fishing schedule, we had a couple of curve balls thrown at us. My helm pedestal seat broke so we had to take it to Standish to have it welded. We checked the other pedestal but didn't notice it was cracked also. So today the other one is getting welded. Jim's Prop Shop in Standish gets two thumbs up, for prompt, reasonably priced, and reliable service. Jim also added 4 gussets to the pedestals to make them stronger than original. The cost was $20 per pedestal. Check your pedestals for cracks, especially on older rigs. There is a lot of leverage from the seat to the floor, and big waves just add to the constant movement.
Good Luck to all in the Stinger Tournament Tomorrow.

GJ Bill. Luv dem eyes. Hey that one grew some wiskers.

It's been FANTASTIC fishing. I hope we can get out today but it don't look good. The Gravely Shoal Light hasn't posted a report since 9PM yesterday. We had a fish fry last night. I hope I can find some hogs Sat.
Yesterday we had a triple and a double, but most of the time the fish just kept coming slow and steady. -
It's so cool to see the look on a kids face when they reel in a fish. Cute kids.

Jack W; Joe A; Gary W; and I fished AuGres again today. When we hit the water a little after 6 it had a nice walleye chop. Three lines in and the skunk came out of the box. We worked a little for a four man limit. A couple of hrs into our trip the West wind shifted to the North, and we were fighting 2-3 ft waves. Inline planer boards B.B. the real thing on harnesses, with chartreuse, glow tiger, orange, and purple being the colors we run. We never changed a bait. Our biggest fish was about 3#s. 30+ FOW running 1.5 MPH. It was good to have Joe onboard again. We fished a lot before, but this was our first trip in about a yr. Jack W. had his son over and he fished with us the last two days. I love this time of year and the hot fishing on the Saginaw Bay. Get em while it's HOT.
I apologize for not responding to other posts. I have not gotten to bed before 11:30, and was up @ 4:00 AM two days in a row. It looks like a blow day tomorrow. I' may catch up on my sleep.

LMAO!!! It never ends Mike. Those boards and flag kits are less money on our side of the Mitt. $20 for the boards and $15 for the flag kit. The Walleye can be challenging to catch, but they sure don't fight like a salmon. It was a pleasure to fish with you and your boys.
What Jason said is true on making the flag kit. I made some also. One thing with buying them you get some upgraded releases. The black ones that come with the Offshore boards suck. You can rig flags on the church boards also. I put Offshore flags on Big Jack's Church Boards. Church also makes a flag kit. All that stuff is priced less over here, so us PO BOYS on this side can somewhat afford them.
