  1. Hang in there, better times are coming. :) Anytime I can get out is a positive thing, and fish in the box is just the icing on the cake.:) TYVM for the report.

I like the mid July through early September time frame. This year someone is going to have to pull me off the walleye. I'll be kicking and screaming, but I need to get my Salmon fix, to last me until next year. Addicted to screaming reels, and the lonesome whine of the downrigger cables. :)

  2. GJ Dan. Gitter Done as quick as you can.:) Save the Fs. Fish & Fuel.

You are so right about this fishery. I had a few West side folks on the Priority1, that are thinking a lot more positively about our sunrise side.:) 07 was FANTASTIC and 08 is even better. The walleye seem to be fairing well as far as the diseases go. I hope the trend continues well into this Century.

  3. Tim joined my son Jacob and I for morning trip. Set lines at 7 am at 60', trolled North, South, East, And West, All around from 60-140'. We landed One 12 pounder in 120 and had One other on. Both on the mountain Dew Flasher/Fly off the wire set 200' back.

It sounded like some others did good.

    Thanks Tim for coming.

It will only get better as the Summer progresses. GJ on the one fish.

  4. Sorry for the late report. Set lines in 60 ft of water and headed west. Didn't take our first fish until 115 ft when the 7 color goes with Craigs X-mas landed a 4lb king. Turned around and headed east and in 90 ft rigger 50 down with stinger dolphin pops landed 5lb lake trout. Trolled back out to 130 with not another bump so turned back in. Got to 120ft rigger 100 down with blue circus freak pops and nobody there. Minutes later the other rigger down 85 with stinger dolphin pops landed a 5lb king to end the day 3-4. I was wondering what is the best way to keep the sea fleas of the line. I thought we were going to lose a couple fish due to cleaning the line with a fish on. We would pull in lines about every half hour to clean the fleas of because they were that bad. Just looking for some suggestions.

Cortland makes the flea flicker line, but most fishermen just run heavier line to help with this problem.:)

    Thanks for the report. GJ:)

  5. Hey Frank....How about the next time you go fishing? Let me quote someone from the site. "Get er done"! :D

You know me Mike, I'm old school.:) When things aren't broke I don't try and fix em. But as per your request, I'll try one of the one ounce next time out. I'm hoping the one oz DBs will come close to what a 2 oz BB will do. I may just let one out dry to see where it bumps bottom. My crew gets cornfused enough as it is.:) I'll throw this curve ball into the mix, and it will give me something more to growl at them about. Gitter Done.

  6. I wasn't going to fish this weekend, because of the crowds. I was going sit in a lawn chair at he launch, drinking lemonade and enjoy the circus. I decide to try and get a crew together and get out early. We picked up 14 fish rather quickly and worked a lil for the last 6. I had some newbies, to inline boards onboard. By the end of the trip they were doing just fine. Four man limit 30 FOW 2 oz B.B. about 35 down 1.5 MPH. Do I sound like a broken record????? I keep inviting newbies, because it gives us Grumpy Old Men someone to growl at. I was going to try cranks the last two times out, but keep running the crawlers. With an experienced crew it is almost like harvesting.:) Gitter Done.
