  1. Hi Captn Dan:

You still planning on fishing Monday May 15?  The lake conditions are looking good.  If the wind/wave prediction holds, I'm planning on coming up on Sunday with my boy, and fishing outta OPA on both Mon May 15 and Tues May 16. Would be cool if we both worked the same area and kinda carpeted the area with gear and made a go of it, double dog-on-it style. What do you think?

  2. Hi Truman,

Will be trying for a trip up outta SoHA to fish morning of Mon May 15 and Tues May 16 out of my boat, OPA. I'm hoping my son will be with, and I hope you can make one or both dates. As of right now, wind and wave report is for calm seas and warming/clearing water. But, you know how conditions can change on that big lake. I think Cakpthn Dan is going out on May 15 as well outta his boat. Please let me know.

    tight lines....D

  3. WOW. Great report. Thanks for posting. Never ceases to amaze me how mother nature makes a fool out of all of us. Bravo on a great effort out in the big water.
  4. Just got back on this site and read your post with great interest. I hope your install is going well and you have had success with your autopilot (AP). I'm one of those guys that has a Lowrance HDS 9 installed and did install the Lowrance Outboard AP on my Honda BF50 outboard. Absolutely LOVE the system. Makes my salmonid excursions a dream come true as far as relieving the drudgery of driving in winds, waves, etc. The AP will even do patterns preset into the memory. My fav is the zigizag which meanders the boat to keep the gear moving back and forth by zigzagging while still staying on the original course. Really has improved our hook up rate by varying the lure action constantly in calm conditions (don't need it in chop). I could go on and on, but you get the point. When we get a fish on, we simply take the AP off zig sag and turn the speed down to 1 kn to fight the fish. Now we can both work the fish, net it, and then reset the AP for the next one. I hope you will enjoy your AP as much as I have. Contact me if you have any Q's. Tight lines and safe returns to port...
