  1. Oh sure, hit a guy right in the jimmy while he's down! Even better, my uncle (FishTales on the site you came from) has a nice Crestliner he keeps slipped over there. Kept telling me to come over, but I just have no time. Here's the tally for the year.... Last year, logged 24 trips. This year, 5! No rest for the wicked!! I do miss/love the bay though! First time I ever fished over there, I had a 16ft Aluminum boat with a 65 horse Evinrude hanging off the back. Dated to '73. I set down on the lake..... On the Same day as the Lind Classic. 200+ boats left Hoyles right before me. I took home a few 8lbers and been wandering over there ever since. (I want to say 98 ish, looking for pics/dates right now) Grew up walleyeing on St. Clair with the ole man. We could rent boats out of Selfridge for $2.00 a day. He's since retired from GM and won't peel his but from the '07 Ultra Classic (recent trade 00 Softail) to come fishing with me I've switched over to the Salmon/Trout scene since then, but still have a soft spot in my heart for the 'Eyes.
  2. Just out of curiousity..... On that particular day, how many Bassmaster pumping rookies did ya have out with ya??? We don't lose too many together. (Unless the play with the wire on my boat)
  3. Me too!!! Sometimes in 6 am Sometimes in 9 am Occasionally in 10am
  4. Just curious who drives how far to work and what would you call too far? Obviously if you drive for a living, its probably not the same thing!
  5. Caught the nice "my face is built up with pressure" bug this past week. Had Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off. Fished Sunday-Great Day. Started feeling it Monday-noonish. Layed around blah-Tuesday. Not enough to make ya stay home from work, just enough to be frigging miserable!!!! I hate over the counter crap. Its just that-crap. You ever notice-we don't treat the problem, we treat the symptom........
  6. Haven't been there this year at all!!! AND I LOVE IT THERE!!!!! Welcome abroad AB!!!! and yes I know I put abroad!
  7. Kinda wishing I had my boat in this.... I think I can take ya.......
  8. Yes I will and actually, from the first time Mike and I fish'd together, I run mine pretty much the same. I never ran them tight, just ran them even looser after fishing with GLF! We had discussions about it. Now.... My philosophy! I think even though their quite loose when we grab a "fish on", we still need to tighten them down a little while retreiving. Think this maybe elongates the opening Mike?!??!?!?!?
  9. Gonna do Ludville myself on Sunday and maybe Tuesday. We never stay long due to Horses and Dogs, and Ducks!!! Someone's gotta feed 'em!!
  10. So..... The only thing I really did wrong was saved a helluva lotta freezer space. Taking home more salmon I'd have no room for the upcoming buck I'm going to kill!!!!
  11. Talking to a buddy today, and re reading DNR rules and regs, I think I've been misunderstanding something. I go out fishing on Lake Michigan. I can use 3 rods per person. I can catch 5 fish. Trout and Salmon in combination of 5. Only 3 of 1 kind. Trout or Salmon. (Is the way I thought it was) Can I have 2 Kings (Chinook) , 2 Coho, and a Steelhead or Laker for my 5? So 4 salmon and 1 trout but 2 different species of salmon. I know this is rehashing an old thread, but I can't find the darn thing. Thanks!
  12. Fishing in 3-5's with people blowing chunks, how the heck could anything be pointing where it was supposed to be pointing?????
  13. I would think the worry would be..... I'm using my full core rod and I clip a board on after letting 2 colors out. Wouldn't ya be more stressed out about "pinching" the core and weakening it vs the wear and tear on a tip? I mean your bringing the core in (lets say full core) anyway with a 20lb king, its going to go through the stress of the tip anyway, but the weak point on the core that I had my board clipped to broke off and the king got away! Follow me?
  14. I've noticed, but never thought anything about it until you posted and then I asked you about it. I have to admit, I wasn't paying attention to the tails until you brought it up but my last cleaning "Ta Da"!!!! I used to freeze these for friends/work buddies, but don't no more cuz I don't work with people that want 'em anymore! I have absolutely no more valuable information at this point.
  15. I also pm'd to let him know we could finish up the season on the Dv8oR boat as team DirtyDog!!! You could even just take the boat so's I can fish with Mike!!!!! *EVIL GRIN*!!! Just some ideas for ya T!!!
  16. I had Offshore boards and switched to Church boards as well! (I still kind of like the way the Offshores run in the water vs the Church!) Definately year round. Us guys with the 8' beams, it sure does spread some stuff out!!!!!
  17. Isn't that one of them giant suckers?
  18. HAY! I need the Slasher with the Sea Foam fly for a choice. Loved this on the wire at the Stinger Challenge! Glow Puke and the Tangerine and Chicken Wing
  19. Yea but chances are I'm gonna catch more kings and I don't like killin the little fellas!
  20. Thanks T! I feel bad for your boat breaking on ya yesterday.
  21. I'm still geeked! Just wish I'd a had a 3rd Crewman! I have to call it a near perfect day! If not for the 6 for 7 count, I would!!! Set lines at 5. into the pierheads at 8:20! The Stinger Challenge Event package was the bomb!!!!! This link show's the picture of the package. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6900 Had 0 luck with the dodger, but actually didn't have time to catch one on this anyway! Started out til I quit marking fish. Stopped set up and went back into 'em straight out a little north and ended up south from 85 to 115ish. If I ever bring my gps in and download I'd tell ya for sure. (Need card for the Lowrance, so's I can save) Bottom row of the pic, second over from the left was hot at 40 on the port rigger. NO stacker. That and the Slasher and the fly on the left was hot at 2.5 on a dipsey 100 back. Port Side also! Only fish from the starboard was on the 4 color core with the dolphin looking spoon. Final was about: 3 Kings 13, 11, 10 lbs ish.... 2 Coho 1 Pretty little 4lb Steelhead Sorry Michigan Stinger and Mike(GLF), I'm just not good at the names. I like the pretty colors! Truth be known. A couple of these spoons never hit the water. Not telling which ones! Brought 'em all home even and glad I did too!!!!! p.s. I actually think I pooped myself out when Jake and I were taking turns doing cannonballs and flips into Muskegon Lake from 8:40 to 11 ish....... in the 80 degree water.
  22. Sorry so late fellas. Trout Tracker posted to. The 4th West Michigan Fishing League Event has been cancelled due to the Wave forecast! The Blow date Sunday August 26th at Fisherman's Landing. Once Again, Sorry so Late!
