  1. GLF what time would a good chat time be for everyone here. Post or no post, would like to talk some fishing because we all know it's not far away
  2. I'm with you Caz i dont think the time factor is the problem or access to a computer either.I worked on a Charter both here on the East side for walleye's and on the West side for salmon we made sure every day to update our results. That's just my 2 cents..........
  3. I use 7 1/2 foot ugly sticks for my riggers, but like Mark said above the fish are hard to control at the boat but what a riot when you have a 15 or 20 pounder on the other end. But Sea Mac you should have no problems with a good 7' or 7 1/2 footer. Hope this helps but not much info. Hope to see you on the water.
  4. We had a few this winter with some rather large gobies in their gut,so there eating them but not fast enough though.......
  5. We just got back today at 3:00 fished this morning and managed to go 4 for 8 in the top half of the river. All the fish except 3 were dark and appeared to be in the river for a while the rest were chrome. So all in all it was a fantastic weekend. And didnt manage to "break" nothing. We had high water for both days which was good for fishing. Not a whole bunch of traffic on the water, which made accessing our holes pretty easy. So the forecast for anyone wanting to go up there is some fish in the river.I'll post some pics when i transfer them to the computer. So tight lines and bent rods......
  6. We left for the river Saturday morning around 5:00am with boat in tow, arrived at the launch around 6:15 to see that we were the first boat there:grin:. We left the launch and headed down river to the first hole,we anchored the boat and set up for the first cast. 4 casts later my brother said "fish",wrestled it to the boat it appeared to be a nice chrome hen about 8 pounds. He said as he put it in the cooler "one down five to go".After about a 1/2 hour no fish we pulled up and headed up river in quest for 5 more arrived at the next hole which this one treated us good we took 4 out in about 25 minutes, mind you it's only around 8 am or so and we already have 5 in the cooler:grin:. I said to my brother "if we keep going like this it will be an early day", we fished a little bit more there with nothing not even a sniff.. So we pulled up again and headed up to the next stop.We dropped anchor again, nothing for about 15 minutes and then i hooked what felt like moby dick, the fight was on for about 10 minutes or so and then we saw it my brother said wow thats a big brown, i wrestled that fish to the boat where we were just about to net it and the hook pulled out:angry2: for the next 25 minutes there was a lot of cussing going on by yours truly. So we managed to fish for a while with good success caught and released 2 little skippers. But we managed to boat our 6 th fish for the cooler so we caught altogether 9 for the day and headed back to the launch to go get some lunch and a cold one at Desi' in Footsite.

  13. Awesome video Billy V. Sure wish i still had my dad to fish with. But only have memories and pics, but i have a little brother that loves the sport as much as i do.But my father still looks over us everytime we hit the water, when fishing is slow for us we look at each other and say"what would dad do". So cherish all the good and bad times you have with the ones you love....
  14. Hello my user name is Reel_Screamer, but my real name is Tony and i live in Bay City MI by the Saginaw Bay.I'm a mason tender during the week and a "fishoholic" on the weekends or when ever i can. I'm single with no kids, just my English Setter "Rocko". I love big water fishing especially for the salmonoids of the great lakes. My boat i just purchased is a 1990 27' Tiara Open fully rigged for the Great Lakes, and looking forward to putting some hours on it this summer.I only been salmon fishing for about 13 yrs so i'm still kinda green to the sport. This site looks great and i'm glad i found it looking forward to chatting and meeting all of you.
