What time of the day are you finding most productive?
Early mornings, or late in the afternoon, early evenings?
Yeah, got the shakedown jinx out of my hair now for some real fishin"

Finally got out this morning 5/24/07
Well I finally made it out on the lake this morning.
Got to the boat at 6:45am. Started right up. Got every thing arranged, went up to the bait shop and got dozen crawlers.
Back to the boat, wont start. Turn key, click click click. Pull battery, take it to AutoZone get it tested, Battery is fine full charge. Back to the baot hook it up again, after cleaning terminals, starts right up.
By this time, already 9:30, I gettin fed up, but I'm goin' fishin!
Get out of the harbor head west looking for fish.
Couple guys on the radio, fishin East and shallow 12-16 FOW.
I find fish in 32 fow, oh boy set two rods 1 big dipsey, with copper stinger back 40' off the reel.
The other a flat line with a copper spoon/harness( Thanks Capt. Dan) on it with 1 1/2 oz of weight.
Fish on! got one to take the spoon/harness . Gone. fish 1 me 0.
then in same troll dipsey goes, 4# walleye. Fish 1 me 1.
And that was the extent of my trip. Out at 9:30 in bye 12:30
1 for 2.
The Lake was flat, no breeze at all, Strong current from west to east.
Got fish trolling against the current.
Nothing going back with it.

Got this from another site I'm member at.
From the area code, these guys are in Illinois.

One of the drivers even has a helmet on. Many direct hits with these, I'm assuming Asian Carp.
good fishing!

Dan, you are a lucky man. To find a place like that with that kind of service is a rare find.
Best of Luck with getting it all together in time for your season to start.
-
I look at it this way, at least you got a chance to go fishing and you did catch some fish.
Maybe not what species you were after, but, that's what it's all about isn't it?
Going out and having fun!
And I bet they sure were fun to catch.

I would dare to guess that your name and address would be about all.
-
Capt. Ray, sounds like a plan. Let me know when and where. You have the phone numbers. I am still trying to get some things fixed up at the Marina, but I hope to get in on Monday or Tuesday. I hate being one of the last ones into the water lol. Who knows, maybe we can get out one or more mornings on your way home from work. hint hint after all I am on your way home...

The bass and steelie all came on Rapala's. Shad pattern.
The cat was taken on a crank bait. What a blast that was. We finished out the day with 5 bass at just under 19#
1 steelie at 2.5# and the cat at 15#12oz.

A friend and I fished the Grand River here in Painesville, Ohio the other day this is what we got. Not too bad for a couple guys casting from shore.
-
Frank,
I have a couple of those Black (composite) rod holders, have you had any troubles while using them?
The reason I ask, is they don't really look like they will hold up to trolling. But, from the pictures, I am guessing they do. I would like to get you input on them before I bolt them on.
Thanks, Bill.

Here is what I found about NMEA 2000:
NMEA 2000® Standard
The National Marine Electronics Association has introduced the latest verion -1.20- NMEA 2000® interface standard.
The standard contains the requirements of a serial data communications network to inter-connect marine electronic equipment on vessels. It is multi-master and self configuring, and there is no central network controller. Equipment designed to this standard will have the ability to share data, including commands and status with other compatible equipment over a single channel.
NMEA 2000® represents the cumulative efforts of the BETA Testing Group, a committee of industry and government professionals who have contributed time and expertise to the development and completion of this product.
A complete discussion of NMEA 2000® Version 1.20 is included as well as the names and affiliations of the BETA Test Group.

Great Story Rich !
Glad to hear that you guys got the bird too!
And you know for sure he will NEVER forget his first Turkey Hunt or the guy that brought the bird to him!

I am thinking that I will give them a try this year.
After seeing some of the posts that Capt. Dan from Walleye Express
posted last season of walleye taken on files.

I wanna start a boycott, and with your help we can getter' done !
Please copy and paste this to ANY news groups, chat sites, bulletin boards, where ever you think people will see it! Let's work together and stop the BS! !
Hello my name is Bill.
I am asking for your HELP!
Now STOP right there, this is NOT a plea for your hard earned money!!
That's not what this is about. This is about getting control of these sky rocketing gas prices all over the country.
What I am proposing, is that for the next MONTH(30) days, let's start this on JUNE 1,2007.
DO NOT purchase any fuel products from these guys: ExxonMobil Corp
ExxonMobil Corp. reported $10 billion in net income in the third quarter, the largest ever by a U.S. energy company.
ExxonMobil's earnings announcement that profits rose 75 percent from last year.
Some of there other names are :
ExxonMobil
Exxon
Esso
SpeedPass
Mobil1
Mobil Delvac
On the run
Mobil
If we can all agree to boycott just this one company for a start, you WILL see gas prices come down
and in a big hurry.
If we do it this way, we are not hurting ourselves, by changing companies, we are hitting the oil compnies
where it will hurt them the most, in there WALLETS ! ! !
Please pass this along to everyone you know.
Because it's time WE the American People took a stand,
and put the brakes on CORPORATE GREED !!!
-
Ray, I promise I will call you as soon as it's in and I can get out of the channel!
-
Rich,
What are you doing online? With the weather as nice as it is, I would think you would be fishin
-
It's a 1984 SportCraft 24' with walk around cuddy.
It may not be the flashiest boat on the lake, but it gets me to the fish and back home again without a problem.
-
special x,
Welcome to GLF. This is probably on of the finest and friendliest sites you are gonna find.
-
Congrats Caz, and crew.
Glad to see you guys had a good time.]We still can't get out of my Harbor yet, supposedly by next week.
I just have one question?
Was you playing the "fish on" song while you were fishin ? ? LOL
-
Well let me see here, I was lurking around at mistinger, when this guy showed up and started changing the board all around. That's when Mike (GLF) found me and brought me aboard.
Thanks Mike, Bill.
-
Rich, Lookin good! !
I like the riser set up, makes everything a little easier to work with.
And much Luck on Sat. at St. Joe. May the waves be small and the winds be low, and the fish be VERY Hungry !!!
-
That's really ALL that is on my boat. Except for some harnesses that I made up.

OHIO Changes Perch Limits ! ! !
Weak hatches lead to bag limit reduction
In response to weak yellow perch hatches in 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2006, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has issued an executive order to reduce the sport fishing bag limit for Lake Erie yellow perch from 40 to 30.
The Lake Erie yellow perch bag limit for sport anglers was only recently increased to 40 in 2006 and prior to that has been 30 over the past nine years.
“We are making the decision to manage the perch harvest in order to assure the long-term vitality of this important natural resource,†said Sean Logan, director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. “Like Ohio’s deer herd, the perch population is an example of a continuous work in progress. Our goal as managers is to stay flexible, stay informed, and always be ready to adapt when change is needed.â€

We are getting some real nice eye's here also. But are;'s are in 42-46 FOW, and most are coming on anything silver! Jets on the big boards 30's on 1 side and 40's on the other. With a few big dipsey's thrown into the mix with harness's
