I have been running (1) bag, but I switched over to a Happy Troller plate this year

I will ask my local merc guy to have a look at carb settings.

I have a merc cruiser 165 3.7 I/O

Thing runs like champ. Goes fast goes slow.  Problem is, when I slow to troll speed 1.5-2.0

My engine loads up with carbon. When I rev the engine up, it blows black junk on the water. It will do that for a few minutes and then clear itself.

Are my plugs too cold?

Or is this a carb issue ?

UPDATE. 

I removed the cover and found that I have 4 with circuit boards in them and 2 without.

I will use the ones with auto stop on my boat and let my son use the others on his boat.

Thank You, I will open them up this weekend.

I still have the cable (stainless)  But, I have no idea what is missing to make them stop or how to set them up.

I will try and contact Cannon and see if they have anything on their site

OK I went to cannon web site found owners manual for my riggers. Says to check ground between batteries and boat.

When checking between battery and rigger cable, should have slight positive charge. Also suggests to use Weight Insulator between ball and end of cable.

I will try these steps and post back with my results.

I have several Cannon Electric riggers,  the question I have is  there any way I can add auto stop to these so the rigger will stop when the ball hits the surface of te water on the retrieve.

Hello Everyone,  I have an 88 Starcraft Islander Hard Top,  the paint is getting quite ruff. (Ugly)

My question is what is my best bet to remove the old paint so that I can apply a new paint job ?

I have a 3000 PSI pressure washer, but, I don;t know if that is the preferred method.

From the sound of things in the world right now, I will have plenty of time to prep and repaint

I made a post earlier that they did not work. I was WRONG !  After I checked the drags, These reels work just fine.

Thank You that was very informative.

Some friends went trolling out of Dunkirk 2 days ago.

When I saw them the next morning, the were filleting the catch of walleye.

They asked if I knew what was in the bottom of the cooler?

The look like white eels !  about15 inches long and very thin.

The guys told me these were coming out of the fish once they were put on ice and the fish died.

Has anyone seen anything like this ?   Are the fish safe to eat ?

I wish I had some pictures to share but unfortunately I do not.
