Well, it's that time of year again .

The Holland Steelheaders are hosting the "MISH Challenge" again , there are a few changes this year, mainly the addition of 2 seperate divisions.

WOW , if you love lake trout fishing ,its time. I left the dock Friday morning around 7:15 with my buddy Jeff and Don and headed a little south to look for a few browns on the beach with no luck, we fished from the water plant to the power plant. We ended that line with 9 shaker kings all released. Turned north west and hit 20 fow and it was lake trout city till we quit in 70 fow just south of the piers with 9 lakers and a 2 lb king in the box.

The game plan for Saturdays W.M.F.L. event was to run north to Miami park and set in on the beach and troll north looking for browns. We trolled north till around 9:30 and ended about 2ish miles south of pier cove with 3 browns and 4 shakers kings in the box and 7 lake trout released, but not a laker over 10 lbs.. We made the gamble to run back south and fish hard for a laker to upgrade one of the smaller kings, meaning it had to be better than 10.7 lbs. because of the points system this yr. Well we ended up with 11 more lakers and none over 9.9 lbs., but what a great time ending the morning 25 for 27 and a third place finish..

So here is the pics of what worked and Fridays catch.

Yes that's a J-plug, we tried every thing to try and get a bigger fish and all we got were 8-9 lb lakers.

And Fridays catch.

We had a great turn out for the first event of the yr with 13 boats.

, good luck every one , weather looks great , and I will see you all at the peir heads at 6 am.

Ok ,I feel a little beside my self with this one. I had one of the capt. call today and ask to explain the limit to weigh. I said its your best 5 fish and they said no, you have dnr limit. After rereading it, it was determined that they were correct. This has been changed to reflect you can keep a 3 person limit per boat and weigh your best 5 fish, with 10 points per fish except for weight only for Lake Trout.

It's starting to look better , I recieved a huge box of spoons today to hand out also and the weather is looking great for the weekend with a few kings starting to show up it should be a good time.

Haven't hear from the Kill in it , or a few others yet, I do know that Silver Streak has a huge box of stuff comeing for this one.

Also to any one that is interested in getting in on the end of the season big fish contest don't for get to bring your new spin dr.

Yes I spoke to his today and he did not know for sure, he said to keep calling and he will give me a answer tomorrow.

Terry are you planning on doing the flasher for end of season big fish for those who want to do it ?

Yes Todd, the plan is if anyone want to compete for the end of the year big fish contest you will need to donate 1 new in the package Spin Dr.. The team at the end of the season with the largest fish regardless of species will get all the Spin Dr's.

Ps, remember you can get in this at anytime but need to have donated the Spin Dr before the fish is caught:thumb:.

This is the official sign up thread for the first 2015 west mi. Fishing league event.

It will be held in South Haven and sponsored by Silver Streak.

With that said who wants to play?

To any one that is interested , the Holland Steelheaders is haveing our spring meeting tomorrow evening at Bay Shores Yaht Club in Holland.

This is free to the public, we will have free dinner and our guest speeker will be Capt. Craig Colman from Silver Addiction charters in ludington , he will be speeking in Trolling for spring Brown Trout.

There will be a social hour at 6 and dinner will be served at 7, with a table and 50/50 raffle to follow.

Well with only 3 weeks till the first event , this will be May 2 in South Haven and sponcers by Silver Streak. I will put a sign up thread up around the end of next week.
