  1. We had a pretty good day out of Holland this morning, if you like to catch Lake Trout. I left the ramp this morning with my good freinds NO MO BEGGIN and the Eliminator. We had plans to go west and look for the edge of the clearer water and start there, we found it just south of the peirs in 50 fow. We set a program up of small spoons and body bait on a south troll looking for cohos, browns or the possable drop back Steel Head. And what we found was a large amount of very hungery Lake Trout. I did talk to a few guys that fished out side of 175 fow that said they never marked any thing other than cold water. So with that we decide to stay where we were AND catch some fish for the smoker. Heres a pic of the baits that took fish and and the catch. We finished 10 for 10 Black and Gold j-11 Rapala j-9 perch Rapala J-9 Fire Tiger Rapala Black and Silver J-9 Rapala Gold and Black Thin fish UV Rainbow Alwive Silver Streak And the catch Thanks for comeing along guys, it was a good time as always.
  2. Man I wish that weather was here, nice job jimmy, and bring some of that weather back with ya pal.
  3. I fished out of St. Joe this morning and ended 3 for 3 1 brown and 2 coho, we fished from the pump house to the cook plant and part way back. Fished from 6 to 25 fow , the water was still cold and murky.

  5. Im not sure to be honest, my guess would be it would be the about the same eather way.
  6. Well I decide to make the annual shake down cruise from South Haven before I run all the way to St. Joe. I left the dock at 5ish yesterday evening ''as this was a very last minunte idea" with no-mo-beggin and fishinmachine, and returned at 7:45 going 5 for 5. We fished 6 to 12 fow and ran a variety of body baits on hi lines and small spoons on 1 colors and shallow set riggers. The water temp was 40 to 41 degrees every were we went which was from the peirs south to deer lick creek and back. The catch consisted of 2 small shaker kings, 1 nice coho and 2 browns, one of which was in the 14 to 15 lb range. Sorry for no pics of the baits but there was only 2that took fish and they were, a j-11 black and silver rapala and one of the new Silver Streaks in UV Rainbow Alwive, this was in the mini size. Here is a pic of the "BIG BROWN". Thanks for comeing along guys.
  7. Awesome work Ed.
  8. I had this exact same set up on a 78 islander and Jon is exactly write, parts are getting very hard to find and very expensive. Shift springs the last I new we're going for $300.
  9. The 12 and 15 is not to stiff, the 20 is in my opinion, the color I like is the ultra green and I get it thru Brass Pro.
  10. If you like lighter mono try, 15lb maxima ,its a little pricey but this stuff is awsome, ive got it in 12 lb on my trolling rods for in the river and have yet to break off in 3 seasons on the same line, i also like it in 15 on my riggers.
  11. WOW what nice weather for a change, and why not spend it on the lake looking for a few browns or steelhead, I fished Saugatuck yesterday with my 14 fter ,mainly becouse I didnt want to blow the anti freeze out of the DOG just yet. I left the ramp yesterday with the Eliminator around 10 and returns around 4 going 4 for 5 with 1 Brown, 1 Steelhead and 2 lakers The water temps in the clear water was 34.1 to 35.3 and in the mud infront of the peirs it was from 37.2 to 40.1 . We fished from 6 to 30 fow and from the south end of Ovel Beach to the sliders to the north. Well heres a few pic. of the catch and what took fish. 17. Thanks mike ,that is the ramp I've been useing the last few years , was just concerned more with the water crossing over the center of the river.
  18. Well, with the upcoming coho slaughter about to start I was wondering if anyone had been by the st. Joe or Benton Harbor ramps to see what the condition are for this yr, don't really want to drive close to a hour to find out the ramp is to shallow.
