I trim rib bones after filleting then....
Fishwhisperer showed me how to cut the fillet into three boneless pieces. Once you have a skinned fillet, run ur fingers down the fillet and u should be able to feel the pin bones going from front to back. When you feel them stop, make a vertical cut making a tail, boneless section. Now make a horizontal cut on each side of the pin bones of the remaining section cutting out the bones. This will leave a small thin section up top and the remaining larger lower section down below. You will lose a small section of meat around the bones but on a King it will make little difference.
If you prefer to have a skinless fillet, skin BEFORE cutting the bones out. This works pretty well for me. Just my .02
Exactly the same thing I do...

Nice, thanks for sharing. that's a nice mess of fish!

Sweet, thanks man!

Another Walleye board user here, love em'. I have a mix of them, and really like the TX-12's for stick baits...

Sweet, I'm doing the same thing. Where did you purchase those at? I got the new cabales catalog, and I noticed they now have Shorelander trailer LED's lights.

That was one of my questions as well, thanks guys!

Part of leadcore's seductive appeal is it's ability to "snake" through the water. With a shorter leader, you're transferring much more of the leadcore's movement to the business end of the presentation. On more than one occasion I've cut back my leader during a trip (especially if theres some wave action) and immediately begun to see improved results.
20-25' leader for me.
Hmm, I'll have to try that, although we can tell our friend to tie on a 50 footer!!!

Thanks for the replys guys. Guess it kinda falls under "tackle to catch fishermen" catagory.

Need some opinions on the e-chips, do you guys who use them notice any catch difference vs. regular tackle??? I have yet to purchase any, but I have a buddy who did really well on them last year, but not really enough to convince me yet. so, are they worth it?

Another 30 here, I replace mine several times a year. P-Line CXX, 20lb. clear.

As soon as the shelf ice clears from the GT Bays and Betsie Bay, gotta get some new rod holders mounted, wheel bearings with fresh grease and am swapping the old tralier lights to new LED units. Boat is in the garage, I just cant get myself motivated to go out in the cold garage and start working on it. That first warm day though...

Nice!!! Thanks for posting!!!

Is there a link with dates and times of the show??? Thanks!

Les Davis cowbells and hand tied spin n' glows/peanuts. Also, green neon colored squids and dodgers/fish catchers do well for me. Green dolphin mags work wonders as well.

Welcome aboard Noah. Great shot for the avatar.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
The avatar fish shot was caught last year at Frankfort, my main port for Kings. Mixed Veggies, it was the hot spoon that day. Landed 6 kings, 3 shakers, and lost 4 others, all in 2 hours fishin'! Non stop action, as fast as I could send them down on the rigger the fish hit it. Can't wait till the soft water season is upon us!!!!

I still use squids, I like the Michigan Squids, mostly green colors. Dodgers are ok for me, but I use them mainly behind Hoochies. Again, for me, squids seem to catch the bigger kings, don't know why.

Nothing worse than sitting at the launch and figuring out your problems.
Pisses you off' date=' and DEFINATLEY pisses others off.
Best to check it in the driveway before you go out.[/quote']
Amen.
Every new season, the boat comes out, the garden hose is hooked up, and the engine is started. I make sure it starts and runs well. Don't want to contribute to the "ramp rage" anymore than possible.

Line Changing
in Salmon Pro's Connection
Posted
On mono, I change every year. To me, no sence with having old line snap with $20-30 bucks of tackle on the terminal end. Mono, I use P-Line CXX clear.
Braid, every 2 years. This year I bought some of the Cabales RipCord, to try out. In the past, FireLine and Power Pro.
Copper, don't have one of those yet, this year though. don't tell the wife.
