Boltman, get the Dragonfly 7 model, the screen is much bigger. That's the model that I have and I love it! I installed it this past spring and it's been problem free. Also, if you get yours and it's "Bundled" with a Navionics Gold card, be sure to update it, as the card will probably be an "older" one.

I'd like to know the mortality rate of Kings that are brought up from cold water to warm water, that would be interesting.
Also, the lessoning of the Federal lake trout plantings would be a good start too.

I have both a 45 and 32lb. copper, BloodRun. If I had to do it over again, I'd go 32 all the way. It is so much more user friendly than the 45 IMO.

Trina Rose, let us know how it goes! This is something that I've wanted to do as well. What kind of rig are you taking across?

I think this would be a great class for someone to take who is just getting started, or someone who wants more knowledge of how the different systems work! Plus, it is an attractive price. A few years ago I looked into taking an "on the water" walleye course" with a "walleye pro" on Green Bay. The price came up after a few e-mail exchanges, $800.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I politely said: :no:thanks!

To take the tie down straps off, for me!!!

My brother's TV show is called iFishigan and is the first national television fishing show with all fishing done entirely in Michigan's Traverse City Region. The Traverse City Region is the finest multi-species fresh water sport fishery on the planet.
Hosted and produced by Danny Leonard, former Steelhead/Salmon Fishing Guide, National Bass Tournament Pro, and accomplished outdoor television personality, each High-Definition episode is "loaded to the gills" with big fish action, and expert tips.
You can watch it on the World Fishing Network if you have Dish Network. Please check it out.

Great show, I DVR it. In fact, just watched the show where they were steelhead fishing with Fritz Heller who is one of my good friends!

Congrats on the new house!

For me, I just usually replace the hook. When I do sharpen a hook, , its with a file.

Very nice, congrats!

It is now $1.88 here in TC. The local news said that in Clare, it is $1.55, and in Gaylord $2.20.
-
$1.98 here in Traverse City!!! I will NOT complain!

Yes and Yes!

If you don't want to drill anymore holes, I'd utilize the bolt holes of the cleats for some kind of aluminum track board.

There was a HUGE one here in West Grand Traverse Bay over the weekend. Those cruise liners have been coming to the Traverse City area for awhile now...

I'll be making another batch of chowder this weekend. It is by far THE best chowder I'v ever had, thanks so much for sharing this recipe!!! I've tweaked it a bit, but not too much, I don't don't want to get way off from the orignal recipe!

I'm going to inquire more about this during this off season, I'll keep you guys informed to what I find, thanks everyone!

Hi UBDSLO1 -
That's a good idea. Currently when you log into the site, you can see the weather forecast for your area on the right hand side of the homepage. This is powered by Accuweather but doesn't give you live wave reports. It does give you wind reports broken down hourly. Getting wave reports is a little more tricky to tie directly into the website. Here is the link I personally use though:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/marine/zone/gtlakes/glcstmz.htm
Simply click on your area and it should give you the wave forecast.
Hope this helps
Chad
Thanks! I'll use this more often too!

welcome!

Anyone know? I would love to have one in my salmon port, log in and get real time wave and wind reports. I also would be willing to pay a yearly fee if need be, just curious!

So those are the new Timber Trout I've heard of!!! LOL, that's great!!!

Also, have a good set of tires and brakes on the tow vehicle. As a former certified auto tech (MI and ASE certs) I know all too well that people think their tires are in "good shape" when their not.

Sorry for the late response, but I just found this tonight. VERY INTERESTING INDEED! As some members on this site I know, I also love to horse-trade, once in a blue moon. This whole thread goes to the one that believes, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", so to speak. It's a questionable judgment that some will make, and others will disagree with respectfully, while authorities in power will always disagree with in any shape, way, or form. If you side on the judgment that we are free Americans, and while not wanting to break the law, just to bend it slightly, while no one is the wiser, because, this is a private deal, not public, then go ahead. If you side on the judgment that we must all tow the line, whether perceived or really legal, and all our actions are subject to public scrutiny, well, then by all means don't do it. Since you released "pandora's box" on a public forum, I'd give it up, at least for now. Try waltersfisheries.com in Ludington for exceptional fresh salmon, lakers, and other smoked fish that can be bought for much less, and shipped on dry ice to your home via a phone call. In closing, "don't worry, be happy", lol.
Amen! Great post Ed!

Mine does not have that, BUT, I'm not sure about the newer models.
