  1. This is a good project "in theory", but it does not bode well for the future of the locals, nor electric energy in general. A pretty good number of locals affected by these behemoths of over 300' in height at their doorsteps are protesting daily. And have also filed a suit in court to stop this nonsense from happening in our backyards. The "flicker" situation was never addressed for the locals, nor were the "setbacks" from their yards. Already jobs have been created for non-locals from Muskegon and Grand Rapids, not locals. The same will be happening at the finish for maintenance. And the bottom line is that no energy will be created when no winds prevail, subsidies from Michigan disappear soon, and most or all created energy goes downstate as usual, not to the local area to keep costs lower. All in all, it's a political boondoggle that locals have had shoved down their throats, to the glory of Consumers Energy, it's fancy big city attorneys, and the local political machines being greased by the Utility.

I think there is an easy way to solve this problem. I think people should be able to tell the power company what kinda power they want to buy. Nuclear/Natural Gas/Coal/Wind/Solar. People who want to pay for wind power. If they're willing to pay $600 a month instead of their normal $200 a month. More power to em. Wind costs over 3x as much. We all know this They should pay for it. Why is my bill forced to go up over this? Nuclear is the best technology & is being ignored/hated on. Its also the cheapest. It is also one of the safest per MWH. Personally, I think after a couple of months of billing people based on what they are willing to buy we'd have a nuclear power plant building boom... and btw, they can build em in my backyard. Nobody has any incentive to do anything but hate on nuclear power plant yet they enjoy the low costs of em each month without knowing the true blessing they are to our pockets. That needs to end.

  2. I really appreciate your posts. I've been pier fishing everyday for the last 2 weeks and haven't caught anything otherwise i'd posting too. Now, I have caught logs, fur from dead animals, chain link fences and a windsock. I am not sure those count as catching anything. One of these days its gonna be a fish!

  3. I think that closing the locks would be a waste of time and money, the carp are going to get here one way or another and may not be as harmful as we think ,look at all the other invasive species we have learned to live with .Bud

I am not a fan of having fish that get up to 100 pounds jumping in the air while I'm traveling on plane. People will die. Water skiing & jet skiing will be a thing in the past. Even if it still gets in here. Closing the lock system should delay it.

  4. in my opinion the reason its "safer" than booze is becouse its not legal..therefore 75 percent of the people smoking it never leave theyre moms basement while theyre high therefore less accidents attributed to it..make it as accessible as alcohal and we will see what happens.

I've seen many people unable to walk because they're drunk. I've never seen anyone close to that bad of a shape due to smoking weed. BUT! I am like you. I don't want anyone impaired out on our roads. They should lose their license just like those who drive drunk. The big thing is. We have spent a couple trillion on this drug war and you can still buy/find drugs in any high school in the country. Its a huge waste of money. How many accidents happen on drug raids of people's homes each year an innocent people die? Police get the wrong address etc. How many illegal Mexicans are hired each day to walk drugs into our country? You should watch the tv show border wars. I had no clue what went on. There is also an all out war in northern mexico. This is all because of moving weed into the united states. The prisons are overcrowded and I'm not a huge fan of paying for new/bigger ones for non-violent pot heads who left their mothers basement for a few hours. Legalize it. Tax it. Turn that problem into a something that puts $ in our pockets.
