Jimmy , do you sell JP Slammers in sets?

Does the watermellon come in a glow?

  2. Rj What you do is pull the line all the way to the back of the clip, you may have to increase the pressure some . I have had a couple release but were still able to get the boards in before it hit the fish.

Are you available during the week? I try to get out a couple of times during the week if I can . We usually leave for the launch about 5 If everything is ready and get back home about 10 pm . I will be in town this weekend and weather permitting would be doing a lot of fishing this weekend , My wife is working the weekend Saturday/Sunday so I am free to fish.

  3. Most guys and some charters run church boards so they don't release. If you set it up to release you must have some type of stop, such as a swivel. if you don't it will hit the fish in the head. The last thing you want to happen. When pulling in boards that do not release , keep the rod tip down and to the opposite direction from which it came . once you get the board off its just you and the fish, Rj if you like I could take you out or be happy to go out with you if you need help figuring out the boards, when setting lines , set the farthest line out first working back to the boat. To reset a line let out your core , attatch you board let your line out until your in the correct position. and let it pull back into line with the others.

  4. Russ could you sent me a copy of the picture that you posted full size. We had a great time will do it again sometime. Hope that fishing improves here and is not so far out, most reports from Milwaukee have been sparse.

Let me know how the shirts perform, if you have any problems with them, Its a different product than what we have been using . If you need hats , Hoodies Sweat shirts , Jackets we do them also.

  5. Make sure that there is a plate on underside of the gunwale to support the weight. How deep would you be running your riggers, a 8-10 pound ball is fine for shallow 10-30 feet. If your going deeper I would suggest a 12lb ball so you minimize the blow back . I have 2 cannons mounted to the corners on my Tracker and 2 mounted 1/3 of the way forward. The side riggers need more support because of the lenth . with 4 ft booms running 12lb balls you have a lot of tork on the riggers.

Went 19 for 23 ? tossed back a couple shakers , in the bunch most were steelhead with a very nice Coho and my son came up with the big one again, 15lb king.

All this in about 2 hours of fishing!!!

Thanks Russ we all had a good time.

  7. Do these guys think that they own the lake or what? Last year I had the para sail boat come way too close to my salmon boat a couple of times and last Sunday it happened again. Last Sunday he came 30 feet off of my bow throwing a large wake. Apparently the entertainment was not good enough for his crew so he turned the boat around and did it again. I don't think any of the salmon fishermen mess with the para sail boat. We just fish and go about our business, I do not want to loose rods or equipment because of a careless boater with no consideration for others on the water. Does the harassment law apply here? I think that next time he gets that close to my boat I will take his picture and turn him in to the DNR.

I'm not sure about the federal laws which govern Lake Michigan, but in Wisconsin its 200 feet , if you are within 200 feet of another boat you are suppost to be at no wake speed. I have had many boats not pay attention to this . One in particular crossed my bow at about 30 feet at cruising speed, I did report this idiot to the Coast Guard. If a boater is being unsafe get a name or there number and call the coast guard. If it was an unsafe driver on the road would you call Law enforcement? This guy is putting himself and others at risk , he is responsible for damage caused by his wake, If it was me I would put a stop to it , get the name of the company and make a phone call. Ask them how much Insurance they have . You may have a salmon boat , but what about the guy that come out in his 16-18 foot boat . They don't stand a chance , probably get thrown from there boat. My wife and I were just about thrown from our last boat right in the opening to the marina. and this guy was 50ft from our boat. even had it on video.

  8. they can't all be great days. Definitely keeps you grounded to have a day like that every once in a while.

I know a lot of guys that did well for brew city fished north of milwaukee 40-100 fow by fox point. Of course that was a week ago and we have had lots of wind this week.

good luck on the charter! who are you fishing with?

Went out with Russ (Adrenalin ) had a whole lot of fun, Did have to go deep though, I didn't keep score but it was something like 19 for 23? Mostly Steelhead, my son did get one large 4 yrs old 15lbs King. We fished for about 2 hrs. Long trip out and back. We did toss back a couple shakers that were fresh.

I'm sure Russ will post a report , My son already said he wants to go again! I told him to save his cash and get some buddys and I 'll set him up. Its really nice to get out and not drive the boat and clean fish. Not fishing tomorrow so I can post some pictures then.

  9. Do you still have the cold water there Jim?

The cold water close to shore has moved out. From 40 to 50 ft down 30 the water temps are about 48-50. If you move out to 120 feet the water temps are 42-44 90 ft down. The fish are here but seemed really tight lipped. Some of the reports I heard from those fishing deep (300ft) were good yesterday. but as you know it changes from day to day. Haven't seen any west winds forcasted for the week. so the fish may stay deeper.

Going out on a charter tomorrow, will let you know how we do.

  10. We were hoping to get into some fish like we did on Tuesday, but it didn't happen. Left the docks at 2pm return by 730. not even a drive by, ended up with one shaker Brown pulled in at the harbor. He grabbed a Mikes super bait with tuna. never tripped the rigger. Had gone all the way out to 120 feet , was marking fish but no takers.zig zaged all over looking for hungry fish but they all picked up and left the area. and MMSD had not even dumped anything this week. Where have all the fish gone? Well at least we booted the skunk out on the way in . Better days ahead.
