  1. Pat (tanglefactor2) and good friend Steve and I fished the evening of 7/26. We ran south of the port at 6:00pm and set up in 120 fow for a south troll in 1-3 foot waves. We ended the night with 7 for 8 all kings in the 10# to 18# range. We had two doubles. Our port rigger did a lot of the work. I have been running a clean spoon with a free slider on 14# test line. NBK and Blue Killer. The other rigger had a blue BTI Meat Rig with Home made Herring Strups. That took 1 fish. Dipsy Diver with a NBK Spin Doctor and a Howie green Howie fly took fish. We also landed two on full core on a white glow ladderback J-Plug.

It was a good fun exciting night. I can't waite to do it again.

  2. I have a Lowrance 337C and love it. However I know what you mean about being on the phone for support. I had to send mine for repair and they have a swap out program. Send in your unit and $200 and them send you another that works. That took two weeks which is a long time if you spend any time on the water. As far as the performance of my unit I do like it. I also have no other experance with other brands.

  3. Frank, There were several net sets to the south of the port. I had a list of the nets I kept referancing. However I did find a net out in 305 fow that was not on my list. Anymore you always have to keep your eyes open for them.

As far as the fishing, sometimes you fish when you can. The weather did not cooperate with us this weekend.

I am hoping to his Lake Erie on Saturday.

  4. I have been off of work for two weeks to help my contractor build a garage for me. I took Friday and Saturday to head north to Manistee for some Salmon fishing. The fishing was very good the catching was very SLOW!. We drove up on Friday morning and was on the water by with lines set by noon. We fished til 5:00pm with only one small salmon to show for it. That came on a Luddington Special on a half core. We also had another hit on a Dipsey Diver but it didn't stay long. That came on an old beatup alwife pattern. Saturday we got on the water around 6:00am and fished til 01:00pm no hits. We came back later that evening 5:00pm but the storms kept us off of the water.

The reports from others at the launch was SLOW also.

  5. Use Bolles Harbor, it is a little deeper and much quicker to get out to the lake. I would come out of the channel and go south to the dumping grounds. You will see other boats in the area. This produced very nicely for me last year at about this time. I am think of going this weekend and that is where I am heading. Don't be afraid of pulling some meat. Crawler harnesses on Bottom Bounsers 2-3 oz.

  6. I mainly use my Walleye Boards for Lead Core and I have set the weights as far forward as possible. The lead core pulls down on the back of the board so by moving the weight forward the front of the board can dig in and get out further from the boat.

  7. I have been to several sites over the years and this one is the best. It is obvious you put a lot of thought and work into it to make is such a sucess. I particulay like the outings like the Stinger Challange and WMFL. It has been fun having a little friendly compititon and getting to know some of the other members who are just like me. A fishing nut. Thanks again. TT
