When I run flashers above my other lines they always get tangled in the line that bows back from the deeper rods. I run spin Dr. about 15-20ft back. I only run my flashers on my deepest rod.
-
What down speed should I be running y meat rigs? And how far back from the ball? Do I run them the same as I do with flies? I use spin doctors and stinger pro troll flashers. I usually run only one flasher in my spread because I'm afraid of getting tangled with the other lines. I know some people run all flashers but I'm not sure how to do that without tangles.

Play Dough, there is 2 cleaning stations in St. Ignace if docking your boat there is an option.
-
Last July we averaged 5 per trip. Sometimes we fished by the island and sometimes at St. Ignace. We went 2 for 5 last Fri. The 3 we lost were not just knock offs they were actually hooked and got off. We have never fished towards Cheboygan.
-
We fished out of Mackinaw City every weekend last summer over by St. Ignace or by the islands and the ferry traffic doesn't bother the fishing. But Play Dough you are correct there is no where in Mackinaw to clean your catch. For me that doesn't matter because I just take them home and clean them.

Yoda, yes they are getting thicker and thicker by the day. The Cheboygan tourny had fish weights of just under 50#.

Good fishing. Now I won't have to go as far to find fish.

Our boat has caught a 32#,a 35# and a 36# over the last 15 years.
He was not on a charter. I can't get you a pic because I have a slow internet connection and it won't load.

A good friend of mine went out of Manistee this past weekend and they got a 34# king and it was weighed on a certified scale. They sure are running a lot bigger this year.
-
Went to the island again on Sat. but only managed 3 kings and lost 2 at the back of the boat. The bait was still there but the kings were not there like they were last weekend.

Go to this website and look at their plans and there is an email and a address to send your comments.

Got 4 kings and 2 steelhead fishing by Mackinaw island. No special pattern just 30-55 down just above the cold water.

Fished a long time yesterday and only managed 2 lakers and a lamprey. had a release and the drag screamed then nothing grabbed the rod and brought in a lamprey hooked in the middle of its body. Did mark a lot of bait in 65 ft of water. Did not mark very many big fish anywhere we tried. There was no big fish around the bait. It was a long day for only 2 lakers.

The fishing actions has been steady for the last few days, marking lots of fish and lots of bait which is a good thing, but not that many are taking hold. We have been fishing straight out in 80-120ft, the fishing are coming on stinger caramel dolphin on a 300cu has been going very well, riggers with stingray blue dolphin on riggers and white fish scale hot chip flashers with hypnotist rapture flies. The offshore bite was ok to, everything top 25, 2,3,5 color core, free sliders on riggers parked 35 high slides out 35 with 100ft leads. The weekend held up well for us, the saturday morning trip we took 6 kings on the bank and lake trout including a 22.4 pound king, then headed west for some trout and picked up 6 steelhead,2 lake trout and one king ending with 16 fish, the Pm trip we picked 6 off the bank. Sunday we had 3 on the bank and 4 offshore. We played around on the bank for 45 min today and could maintain dept, fishing was not that good at all so we made to call to go latter in the week when the fishing is better and hopefully the weather will be two.
You said the fish were not biting. But 16 fish in one trip is an awesome trip in my book. We worked our butts off for 6 fish on Lake Huron on Sun. I have never caught more than 8 fish per trip anytime or anywhere. But good job though and tell Captain Craig hi from Fishwhisper the old Killin Time 2 boat.

I think it is a little early for here to have a good tournament. Not many salmon around this time of year there.

This is the first time I have fished Presque Isle in about 7 years because of the alewife die off.Went on Sun. evening and managed to get 3 kings a 3 keeper lake trout. Picked up one king early on leadcore over 90 something fow and one laker in the same depth and also on leadcore. Then nothing for a couple hours and then all heck broke loose just as the sun set in 65 fow. Got the last four fish 3 on riggers and one on dipsy. Would get one in and another rod would go and get that in and another rod would and so on. Then as fast as it started they were done. None of the salmon had any bait in their belly but one laker had a small goby. And the kings were 23",25"and 27" and really skinny.

Any new reports for here would like to go there tomorrow.

Finned ball. I just don't like pinch pad releases. And I really like what I have. I just don't want anymore connections on the wire than I need.
-
I use one of those lipstick looking walker release. I this going to be a problem?
-
2 times yesterday when I brought up the rigger with the depth raider probe on it the line was twisted up the cable and was not able to release the rod. The first time it had a salmon on and it happened to get into one of the other rigger lines and release that one and had to bring the fish in with rigger and the tangled line.
And when I bring it to the surface the probe spins bad as soon as it clears the surface. I am using a walker release just above the ball. Should I have the release above the probe? Any other suggestions?

sherman, thanks that was a lot of writing. I have the old style. Is the directions on their website for the lite bite the same as the old style?
-
I had a slide diver given to me and I am not sure how I rig it and fish with it. I already have dipsy rods to put it on with 30# mono.

I always turn slow. Because I have leadcore and dipseys out. But how far from the ball should I be running flashers so they don't get tangled? When I run more than one. Is the 15-20ft good. And have them all the same. Or run the higher lines off riggers farther back?
