  1. The walleye fishing was horrible on Sun. Only managed 3 walleye and 5 sheephead in 9 hours of fishing. We started in 30 fow then moved out 6 miles from the launch and then moved into 22 fow and that is were we had the most action. The walleyes cam on harresses in white blade red beads, and blueberry muffin blade purple and blue beads. That sheep is going to taste so good.

  2. The best pointer I could give you, is skip tomorrow and come back Mon. or Tue. If you must fish tomorrow I would start in 34-35 FOW. I would use 3 oz bottom bouncers with harnesses over the sides. I would run 2 oz bouncers, and harnesses off inline boards. If the action slows move deep. Sometimes there is also a shallow water bite. It's kind of a play it by ear thing.:) Start trolling at 1.5 MPH GPS and vary the speed up or down if that doesn't work. I hope this helps you. OH!!!! Sometimes the bite slows around 11 AM. You may want to try earlier especially if it's a clear sunny day.

Thanks for the info. We have to come tomorrow on account of, the friends going with me have to work on Mon.Do you think we could get some fish off of downriggers?

  3. I was wondering how to tell how much line to let out while using 1 and 2 pound weights to get to a certain depth using 30 pound mono.I am wanting to try and fish really deep this summer with one rod. I thought I would just use one of my dipsy rods. Because my riggers can't handle 20 pound cannon balls.I read about fishing deep in GL Angler mag. and thought it would work where I fish because the salmon seem to disappear at the end of July through the middle of August. So I think they are probably there just hugging bottom.

  4. I had posted a reply about torpedo downrigger weights and I got alot of responces.Has anyone bought these? Im looking for an evaluation on these b4 I buy these.Any help would be appreciated if they really help with blowback, im hoping to upgrade my 8lb finned to these in 10lb to track deeper and straight down. But being laid off money is tight, Im hoping someone out there has tried these and can give a review if they are worth the money?

Are you talking about the torpedo weights that were just advertised in GLA Mag. These connect direct to your line between the lure and rod. Or is there another kind of torpedo weight that is for the downrigger?
